Van de Erve is back to lead the Fighting Bishops this season on Daniel Island. Jack can play as a pick and pop forward with his ability to step-out and faceup while knocking down some shots along the way. He’s a good passer from the high post and occasionally will handle the ball up the floor.
Mayes made the move over to Atlantic Collegiate a new school on the Grand Strand after playing his whole career at nearby Conway HS. Santana a point guard really looks to push the tempo while playing out top. He plays the game at 94 feet and really likes to play fast from end to end at times.
He will provide some much-needed senior leadership for the Armada in their first season of play and Head Coach Jason Harris. The Armada will play an independent schedule this coming season.
Butler really looks to play above the rim at times with his play. Xavier is hiding out down in the Lowcountry at Bridges Prep. He plays his best basketball when he’s attacking the cup and working his way to the hoop. Xavier really excels in the transition game with his play.
Butler plays active in the passing lanes and really plays the game to the fullest whenever he’s on the floor.
Medalie is a new name here in the Palmetto State. Sam is at the newly formed Atlantic Collegiate down in Myrtle Beach. Medalie made the move down from the State of Tennessee this past summer where he attended Franklin HS last year.
Sam is a point guard with a very solid basketball IQ. He understands on how to distribute the ball to his teammates and make them happy. Sam always seems to be ready to receive the ball the in the pocket before releasing it. He and fellow senior Santana Mayes will provide some solid leadership for this Armada squad this coming year.
Highlights
Godfrey a slender left-handed forward is back for the Hurricanes this season. Cal has very strong academics in the classroom close to a 5.0 GPA. Godfrey a wing player can dial in from downtown with his shooting stroke. Cal uses his length to be a bit disruptive in the passing lanes picking up some deflections along the way. He’s certainly not flashy at all with his play but he’s effective.
Can the Hurricanes claim another Class 3A State Title this coming season?
King is just one of the several players in the rankings for the Lions this time around. Jorden ran with KST on the Grassroots Circuit this summer. He really looks to be a solid finisher going to the rim. Jorden will battle through contact and use his body to finish at the cup. King plays the game with a lot of intensity and grit. He will be a solid piece for the Lions and provide some good minutes this season for Head Coach BJ Jackson.
Hunter surely doesn’t lack confidence while on the floor. Decuir seems to be at his best when he’s dialing in from downtown with shot. Hunter can knockdown the 3-ball at a pretty percentage clip. He understands on how to get open on the floor and find his shot. Decuir plays the game at all times in constant communication with his teammates remaining very vocal on the floor.
Fowler made a solid first impression back at the SCBCA Elite Camp last month in North Charleston. Tylan a left-handed point guard really likes to push the tempo and play a little helter-skelter at times. Fowler is extremely quick in the open court and really manufactures points on the way to the cup.
Tylan looks to make plays and scoring chances for himself and others. He keeps the rock low to the floor and rarely turns the ball over.
Chung made a solid showing at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo back in September. Kishan really plays the game aggressively from out top. He looks to attack the gaps and touch the paint whenever possible. Chung will change gears to get by defenders and use ball-screens at times. Kishaun finishes drives through contact and does a nice job of using both hands to finish at the rim.
Crittington is a RAW talent down at Hampton County HS in the Lowcountry. Antwan understands to stay in the paint and play with his back to the basket. He’s still a bit limited on the offensive side of the floor. He runs the floor and makes sure to down low on the block to battle for position.
Owen is certainly not flashy at all with his play. He will this season at Liberty HS for new Red Devils Head Coach Brenden Marcell. Dawson will get a lot of opportunities to shoot the ball and play up-tempo in the Red Devils offense.
Dawson has a nice pullup- jumper game. He constantly plays around the ball while on the floor. He shoots the ball at a good percentage clip.
