With every player having big hopes of having a big season let’s take a look and see who those players could be. Here are my top small forwards for the 2024 class part II.
Komate is a high-flying two-way forward that can impact the game in many different ways. His elite ball-handling and shifty moves allow him to get to anywhere he wants to on the court. He can hit you with the step-back shot or look to use his eye fake to get defenders jumping. Komate can throw it down on the rim with force and determination leaving defenders thinking twice before they test him. His three-point shooting is great with a quick release. On defense, he can guard multiple positions and will look to disrupt passing lanes.
Davis is an all-around 3-level scorer with little to no weaknesses in his game. He works the midrange and painted area well because of his patience and ability to read defenses. He makes exceptional decisions when looking to pass to his open teammates and will also look to put the ball on the floor and take it to the rim. His shot is smooth while also having a high release at 6’7″ leaving defenses helpless to try and contest it. Davis excels in catch-and-shoot situations on the perimeter.
Highlights
Unangst is a double-double machine that works the low post area well. He is excellent at putting his back to the basket and going to a plethora of moves at his disposal to get open shots. He has an effective turn-around and hook shot he can use whenever he wants to. He can step outside to the three-point line and hit some shots from that area making it tough for defenders that have to guard him. Unangst will crash the glass at will and does an excellent job of boxing out taller and bigger players.
Highlights
Price is a quick and electric forward who will lock up the other team’s best perimeter player. At 6’5″ he can play and guard multiple positions throughout a game and likes to press up on offensive players the moment the ball is tipped. He has terrific timing and instincts on when to poke the ball free from ball handlers and when to get into the passing lanes. On offense, he will look to work the midrange game and attack the basket at will. If you give him the space at the three-point line he will make defenses pay and knock it down.
Bell is a strong player who plays with a lot of physicality within his game. He likes to play in the low post area where he will look to throw his body around to initiate that first contact. He plays with his back to the basket and has a deadly spin-post move he uses to get by his defenders. He has excellent ball security and rolls nicely to the rim off of pick-n-rolls. Bell can finish over multiple defenders around the rim with either hand.
