Serra High School in Gardena, CA has been playing host to their fall league each week since last month. A full slate of games is held on Tuesday nights with some top talent and teams participating. I was able to attend on Tuesday, Oct. 24 and here's a look at some of the top prospects I saw.

1. He's more of a natural forward who can play a little small ball center. He's a finisher at the basket. He catches the ball high in the post, keeps the ball high and can pass back out if swarmed by the defense. Able to post up well against the defense and hold his position. Can shoot from three-point range. Good off ball movement running the floor in transition and moving in the halfcourt.

2. Ashton Liu - South Torrance 2024

Liu was a solid ball-handling wing. He's kind of a shooting guard, small forward hybrid. He's comfortable looking for his shot although he is an unselfish player who looks to make the extra pass. Consistently able to knock down three-point shots off the catch. Can take a couple of dribbles in closer to the basket and shoot the pull up jumper. Does a good job relocating after the initial pass.

3. Ryan Conner - LACES 2024

Conner is a mobile power forward who can slide up and play center. He's able to space the floor with consistent three-point shooting. He can handle the ball on the break at times as well. What really stood out to me though was his play on the defensive end. He uses his size and length well to clog up the middle. He's a shot blocker around the basket. Did well contesting outside shots on closeouts too and simply altering shots in the paint. Does a good job sprinting back on the defensive end.

4. Tyrell Miller - Price 2025

Miller was another solid defensive big man. He's also kind of a forward, center hybrid. He has the size to play center in high school but has a game made for a forward. He can block shots around the rim. Good footwork defensively when switched on the perimeter, slides well and can keep up with the ball-handler. He also stood out for his rebounding ability. Offensive rebounding and getting second shot opportunities for his team is his strength. Does a good job flying in for boards.
