In a separate article we took a look at some of the ranked hoopers who are getting major college football interest. Now let’s look at 2025s and 2026s who are getting looks for football.
Junior Class:
#21 – Kai Reid Kai Reid 6'2" | SF Lee's Summit North | 2025 MO , 6-foot-2 forward, 2025, Piper:
A guy who is really picking up momentum for his work on the football field, Reed is a rock-solid linebacker with good length and athleticism. He uses that power on the basketball court to be a tough matchup on the block, on the move in the midrange, or in transition. He’s a bit undersized as a post player, but he gets it done with his athletic gifts.
#25 – Julian Marks Julian Marks 6'7" | PF Aquinas | 2025 KS , 6-foot-7 forward, 2025, Aquinas:
Arguably the top football player in the state in the 2025 class, Marks has already committed to Mizzou. He may stay at defensive end, where he would have elite size. Marks had a really nice sophomore season on the hard wood and would be a monster for Aquinas if he decides to play basketball as a junior. He’s got light feet and good coordination to go with his tremendous size and power.
#44 – Linkon Cure Linkon Cure 6'5" | PF Goodland | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-5 forward, 2025, Goodland:
Cure really impressed with his athleticism on the club basketball scene following his freshman year. We loved the way he moved and ran for a guy his size. He followed that up with a really solid sophomore hoops season. It wasn’t until recently we realized he was about to blow up as a football recruit. His offer list this fall is off the charts. Whether he’s at tight end or defensive end, his ceiling is high. He’s taken off so fast, some of the recruiting services still don’t list him. But make sure you follow this guy’s recruitment.
Others:
Jayden Lang Jayden Lang 6'0" | CG De Soto | 2025 State KS , the #43 player in the junior class, is picking up some interest on the football field. He’s a long-armed athlete with a willingness to work. A player who is not yet ranked, but has been on the radar of Prep Hoops for a couple of years now is Blue Valley Northwest’s enormous center Andrew Babalola. He has yet to make a mark on the varsity basketball court, and it may never happen. He’s such a highly-sought after offensive tackle, he may decide to devote himself solely to the gridiron. But he’s a guy who has invested a lot in basketball over the years, so don’t be surprised if he’s on the court this winter.
Sophomore Class:
We don’t know a ton about the football recruits in the sophomore class yet, but we are hearing talk about Wichita Collegiate teammates #6 Sebastian Hines-Turner Sebastian Hines-Turner 6'5" | C Wichita Collegiate | 2026 State KS , 6-foot-5 center and #11 Jaden Parker Jaden Parker 6'1" | CG Wichita Collegiate | 2026 State KS , 6-foot-1 forward. Those two are well on their way to great high school basketball careers. They helped lead the Spartans to state as freshmen. But they appear to be headed to some high-level recruitment on the football field.
