As was the case with the previous Top 250 Expos, these last four provided one more tune-up for the area’s top high school prospects prior to when the regular season tips off. This past weekend, Georgia (at Bartow County’s LakePoint Sports), Illinois, Indiana and Kansas all had their turns on the court.
The Cartersville-Emerson area was overflowing with talent – so much that participants were all sorted into 20 teams. One of the more impressive-looking squads was Team 9.
When we first saw Langefels play this weekend at the Prep Hoops Georgia Top 250 Expo, our first reaction was … offers. As it turns out, Langefels is on the radars of Dean, Huntingdon and Notre Dame College (Ohio). Langefels leads by example on the court with the consistent scoring he gives a team, but is also a vocal leader as well. Throughout the travel season, he has participated with OTP National in what one would assume would be his final cycle through AAU ball. Langefels will be returning to a 7A team that will be competing in its fourth season as a Region 6-7A combatant following moving from Region 7-4A.

There is a Kalvin Ashley Kalvin Ashley 6’2″ | SG Woodland | 2024 GA that is part of the roster at 4A Woodland a Kelvin Ashley Kelvin Ashley 6’2″ Woodland | 2024 GA . We will focus on the Kelvin with an e for now. He has participated on the AAU circuit with SDA. With his senior season about to commence, travel ball will now be a thing of the past for Ashley. As a rim attacker, he brings a ferocious and fearless attitude whenever he drives to the rim. Ashley is listed at 6-foot-2. He will make plenty of plays around the rim and a number of them can be offensive rebounds which he can turn into two-point putbacks. A 3-point shot is also part of his overall offensive arsenal.
It is only fitting that one of the standouts at 6A Lanier happens to be someone with Lanier as their last name. The Longhorns, last season, put together a season that saw them finish with a 26-5 mark and made a very deep run in last season’s 6A state tournament. Lanier will corral rebounds on either end of the floor and those offensive boards can turn into two-point putbacks. He also displays his offensive versatility in connecting in midrange jumpers and will look to find spacing in the interior. He wears the uniform of Norcross Heat when the high school season gives way to the AAU circuit.
Stevens came fresh off of a stellar club campaign with GA Knights and is looking to translate that AAU success into a stellar junior campaign with 4A Starr’s Mill. Among his many positive hoops attributes is a knack for displaying accuracy behind the 3-point line. Stevens also knows how to get creative at times with his finishes around the basket. There is a reason why Stevens was listed as one of our Under the Radar 2025 prospects back in February. He knows how to keep defenses honest as they have to gameplan for if he will attempt a shot, drive or pass when he has the ball in his hands.
