Each player brought to the floor their own specific skill set, while attempting to help lift their perspective teams to victory in the very end. The individuals that I have highlighted below are all ones that demonstrated throughout the day that they are varsity-level players, who are sure to be productive on the floor in some facet this winter.

#678 – Reece Carson Reece Carson 6'3" | CG Millard West | 2025 State NE – 2025 – 6’3 – PG/CG – Millard West High School
A player that displayed a smooth game and patience when he was on the floor at this Expo was Reece Carson Reece Carson 6'3" | CG Millard West | 2025 State NE . Carson plays the 1/2 position and keeps it all very simple. There wasn’t a time throughout the day when he played a pace that wasn’t his own, while being a generous passer of the basketball, every chance he was given. There were actually a lot of situations that I think Carson could have kept the ball and scored it in a simpler way then when he passed it to someone else. This game is a learning process and over these next few years, he will start to pick his spots for himself a little bit more often. As for now though, he has a good head on his shoulders and a solid foundation to build on moving into this high school season at Millard West.
#686 – Will Farrington Will Farrington 6'5" | SG Elkhorn North | 2025 State NE – 2025 – 6’6 – SG/CG – Elkhorn North High School
Will Farrington Will Farrington 6'5" | SG Elkhorn North | 2025 State NE has some size, he wants to shoot the basketball and that is not necessary a bad thing. On several occasions at this Top 250-Expo Farrington was setting up 5+ FT behind the three point line and knocking down shots at a high rate. Each possession Farrington would be hustling down the floor for an open look on the offensive end, while understanding his spacing to a T. When it comes to defense, his mixture of size and speed held firm. He was able to pop out and guard a smaller player off the dribble or he could wall up against a bigger player down-low for the most part. All in all, there was a lot of positives to take away at this event for Farrington in my opinion.
#690 – Cooper Mroczek Cooper Mroczek 6'6" | SF Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE – 2025 – 6’6 – CG/SF – Elkhorn South High School
One of the tallest and most diverse players in the gym last Sunday was Cooper Mroczek Cooper Mroczek 6'6" | SF Elkhorn South | 2025 State NE . Mroczek has size at 6’6, long arms, and a guard like skill-set that can play inside-to-out. Throughout the day, he demonstrated the ability to catch and shoot it from deep or put it on the floor and score off the dribble in a plethora of different ways. Once he gets going downhill, he is pretty tough to stop without having help come from the opposite side but he also showed that once help does come, he is a willing passer to the teammate that is left open. Defensively, he showed discipline and smarts. He stayed down on most pump fakes and made his opponent score tough baskets over his contesting hand. All things that coaches love to see at the next level. The future is bright for Mroczek on the court, something you can pick up just from watching him compete out there for about 5 minutes.
#642 – Desmond Cole Desmond Cole 6'4" | SF Westside | 2025 NE – 2025 – 6’4 – SF – Westside High School
The first live note that I have for Desmond Cole Desmond Cole 6'4" | SF Westside | 2025 NE is, “At times he gives me eye-opening moments of, WOW.” and I can’t find any better way to put his game. At times out on the floor, Cole would make a more or display some sort of skill that would make everyone think, WOW. His game is versatile, as he is a smooth operator with the ball in his hands but he also is pretty solid in the catch and shoot game, from anywhere around the perimeter. If a defender happens to over-play the shot then Cole has the size, speed, and skill to get to the rim in a limited amount of dribbles, giving himself a better look at the end of the possession. I’m sure that Cole will see the varsity floor this winter. He is someone that when he keeps it simple and efficient, is a handful out there for his opponent. If he can take advantage of his mismatches, he should EAT this season at Westside.
#636 – Parker Kelly Parker Kelly 6'1" | SG Lincoln Pius X | 2025 State NE – 2025 – 6’1 – PG/SG – Pius X High School
One of the more complete guards that I had the chance of watching on the day was Parker Kelly Parker Kelly 6'1" | SG Lincoln Pius X | 2025 State NE . Kelly only stands at around 6’1 but he has lengthy arms and a great “feel” for the game. I think that the more impressive part of watching Kelly is how he knows what his teammates want to do in each moment, even if he hasn’t played with them for very long. He picks up cue’s well on the floor in live action situations and that stood out about all last Sunday. When it comes to his actual skill set on both sides of the ball, I would say it is rounded, as he does positive things here and there. Moving forward, I’m not sure of where he falls in the pecking order at Pius X High School but if he gets a chance, he is sure to make the most out of it this winter.
