Collins is a one-man offensive machine on the south side of St. Louis. As a sophomore he averaged 27.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 3.2 APG. The lightning quick guard plays with a high skill level on the ball and can make tough, off platform shots. Bryan Turner gives him ultimate freedom and Collins makes the right play more times than not. He’s a gifted scorer who sees the entire floor as a passer. It’s difficult to leave a player of his caliber off this list. Collins puts up huge stats, has a leadership role, and is at the top of every opposition’s scouting report. He’s the total package for a high school floor general.
Jackson is an easy choice for our preseason list. He’s the floor general of Cardinal Ritter and a state champion. Last season he averaged 13.4 PPG and 2.7 APG. The senior brings a calming presence and has the answers for many different defenses. Capable of getting hot from three, Jackson will have momentum changing sequences during games. He’s an extension of the coach and has a high basketball IQ. While Ritter has a balanced overall attack, it’s clear that he’s the leader among the bunch.
Williams has been highly productive for Sikeston over the years. An all-state selection last year, he now has a chance to be the 5A player of the year. He fits their up-tempo system well. The 6’5 wing can score in bunches and brings excitement with above the rim plays. He switches all positions on defense and brings a ton of versatility. Williams is capable of going for 30+ points on any given night. The Abilene Christian commit will be playing his natural position on the wing due to new transfers at the guard spot and an added frontcourt help. Williams is the top ranked 2024 in our Missouri database.
Rickman is a versatile 6’6 forward who does all the dirty work around the rim. He’s a strong post player, rebounds well, and creates for others. His 18.3 PPG, 10.4 RPG, and 5.3 APG were all among the best in the area. He’s a forward who understands the game at a very high level. If anybody is going to have a triple double this season it might be Rickman. Borgia centers their offense around him and other teams still struggle to contain the senior. He has interest at the Division 2 level and someone will be getting a steal during the signing period.
Highlights
Purvey is now the undisputed leader at Webster and looking to lead his own team to a state championship. The 6’4 forward won a championship as a sophomore and was one of the best players at state. He has since worked on his frame and become a better jump shooter. He averaged 16.3 PPG and 7.9 RPG as a junior. A player who personifies toughness and wears his heart on his sleeve. Purvey has an edge that Webster has always had from their top player. Looking forward to seeing how the UMSL commit does during his senior season. Webster has a talented core surrounding him.
