It was a good day of hoops as the players went through post foot work, guard play, and perimeter shooting, before a controlled scrimmage. Here’s a rundown of the players at this event
He’s a guard with good fundamental skills and ability to play both guard positions. He initiated the offense in half-court sets, using good ball handling, and passing to deliver quality passes along the perimeter, and into the post. He sees the court in transition. Mansour can knock down mid-range shots off the dribble, and hit 3’s.
Chavarin is emerging as a top defender, and rising shooting guard in NorCal that has him working under the radar. The lengthy arm defender brings energy and effort on defense, he’s stronger than he looks. He can defend on the perimeter, and in the post. At 6’3 he’s an excellent rebounder. He’s gained the confidence a shooting guard needs to take and make shots.
Highlights
Aisien standing 6’5 with good length, he runs the court, and jumps high. He’s good in transition finishing high above the rim with dunks, and lay-ups. He’s made progress as a wing type player, improved ball handling away from the basket, and 3-point shooting along the perimeter. He has the tools to take his game to a higher level.
Highlights
He’s as feisty a competitor as you’ll see in NorCal. At 6’0 he’s a hard playing guard, that gets after it on both ends. He scraps for loose balls, never gives up on a play. He has the tools to run the offense up top, and make shots working off ball. He can knock down the open 3’s, and get it high off the glass on drives. He has the confidence to take and make the big shot.
Doty has bulked up a bit and is looking to have a breakout season, after playing against quality competition on the Under Armor Circuit. He’s aggressively looking for his shots, creating off the dribble and putting up 3’s with a good release when open. He knocks down the mid-range jumper in transition. He’s defending hard on the perimeter.
He’s a good all around guard with a calm approach. He can run point or work off the ball. He’s a steady contributor with a good skill set. He has good quickness to attack and finish in the paint with moves to keep bigs off balance. He has to be accounted for behind the 3-point line.
