The state of Arkansas is loaded with talented basketball players that are opening plenty of eyes as we approach the season. We are going to highlight some prospects that have opened plenty of eyes of late.
Terrion Burgess Terrion Burgess 6'9" | SF Benton | 2025 State #42 Nation AR -Benton-Small Forward-6’9” 2025
The Benton forward is a prospect that runs the floor extremely well. Burgess battles for boards and defends well on the defensive end of the court. However, he is a player that will work inside and play above the rim on the offensive end of the court. The Benton forward is a double-double waiting to happen this upcoming season. He has the potential to have a breakout season this season and I expect a big 2023 season from him.
Jamal Holden Jamal Holden 6'7" | SF Conway | 2027 State AR -Conway-Small Forward-6’7” 2027
The 2027 class is a talented group that is already opening eyes. The Conway forward is a player that can take opposing defenders off the dribble with little trouble. Holden does a great job of exploding to the basket. He is a worker on both ends of the court. Holden will battle for the boards and keep his hands active. He is a player that can hit from all areas on the court. Holden is a player to watch out for over the next few seasons.
Jacob Lanier Jacob Lanier 6'6" | SG Maumelle | 2026 State AR -Maumelle-Point Guard-6’6” 2026
Jacob Lanier Jacob Lanier 6'6" | SG Maumelle | 2026 State AR put in excellent performances over the weekend in Duncanville, Texas. Lanier was hitting from all over the place on the court. Over the weekend, the Maumelle guard averaged 37 points per game. He continues to open eyes and will be a major prospect that teams are competing for over the next couple of seasons. Lanier is only continuing to improve his game and is a prospect to watch out for this season.
Kameron “KD” Hicks Kameron “KD” Hicks 6'1" | PG Little Rock Christian Academy | 2027 State AR -Little Rock Christian-Combo Guard-6’2” 2027
The Little Rock is rich in talented prospects on the hardwood. Hicks is another prospect that continues to open eyes with the effort he puts in on both sides of the court. He battles for boards and defends well on the defensive end. Meanwhile, he moves well without the basketball, and it will hit the contested shot with consistency. Hicks is another member of the class of 2027 to keep an eye on this season.
