In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the Wabash Apaches.
Quick Hitters
- Finished 17-7 last season
- Lost to Lewis Cass in Sectionals
- Paul Wright returns for 11th year as head coach. 119-114 overall record
Top Player: Izaak Wright
The 6’3 senior shooting guard returns for the Apaches as the leading scorer from a year ago. Last season, Wright averaged 18.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Wright became one of the in-state 2024 class stock-risers towards the end of the summer due to his ability to shoot the ball and be a playmaker. He is a left-handed wing as some solid size and length on the perimeter. He is a expected to have a another huge season at Wabash while looking to obtain more notice from small colleges.
Other Important Roster Members:
- Trevor Daughtry – The small lead guard is one of the more under-the-radar players in the senior class. He is an excellent playmaker and scorer in the backcourt. He is a good shooter from beyond the arc knocking in 48 three-pointers during the high school season while averaging 14.8 points and 4.4 assists per game. Very tough defender, as well.
