In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the New Palestine Dragons.
Quick Hitters
- Finished 23-2 last season
- Lost to Brownsburg in Regionals
- 6-striaght winning seasons
- Trent Whitaker returns for 9th year as head coach. 116-84 overall record.
Top Player: Julius Gizzi
Gizzi is a 6’3 shooting guard that is very skilled with the ball, shoots it at a high level from beyond the arc, and rebounds well from the perimeter. He is coming into this season off of a good AAU year with D1 Indiana that showed how talented he can be. He also has some stocky size to him and can play real physical on both ends of the floor. With the departures from last year’s great team, someone like Gizzi could really step up and lead the Dragons this season.
Potential Breakout Player: Keagan Harrison Keagan Harrison 6'2" | SG New Palestine | 2025 IN
Harrison is a player that is a little under-the-radar in the in-state 2025 class. A 6’2 shooting guard, Harrison has a real good motor on both ends of the floor and most of his scoring comes from strong drives and just figuring out creative ways to score around the rim. At times playing for Kyle Guy Elite 2025 Black this past summer, he often became the ‘go-to’ guy for them so there is potential that he will do the same this year for the Dragons. It would not surprise me to start hearing his name come up as one of the breakout players this season.
Other Important Roster Members:
