Schools in County: Charleston Collegiate, First Baptist, Palmetto Christian Academy and Porter Guad
Charleston Collegiate – The Sun Devils finished (23-6) a season ago in SCISA Class 1A.
First Baptist – The Hurricanes have seniors Cooper Kowalski Cooper Kowalski 6'9" | PF First Baptist | 2024 State SC and Taye Robinson Taye Robinson 6'4" | SF First Baptist | 2024 State SC back this season. Kowalski an athletic forward who has expanded his game to the perimeter some this past summer with the Charleson Raptors. Cooper runs and glides all over the floor with his play.
Robinson is one of the better shooters in the state when it comes to efficiency. Taye shoots the ball at high percentage clip and never seems to force his shot.
Palmetto Christian Academy (Mount Pleasant) – The Eagles finished (5-14) last season under Head Coach Dan Jansen. Jansen a former NCAA Division II All-American played at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. Jansen finished his career with 2,255 career points for the Vikings.
Porter Gaud – The Cyclones return senior left-handed forward Clyde Mauldin Clyde Mauldin 6'5" | SF Porter Gaud | 2024 State SC and junior guard Robert Moore Robert Moore 6'7" | SG Porter Gaud | 2025 State #232 Nation SC to the lineup this season. Mauldin a strong academic student is a deceptive athlete who really likes to play along the baselines it seems. Clyde can finish around the cup, post up smaller defenders and step-out to the three-point line.
Moore is geared to score the ball wherever on the floor. Robert can create his own shot and has the ability to be a strong 3-level scorer. Robert picked up offers this summer from several NCAA Division 1 programs like College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State and Furman to name a few. His recruitment is certainly no done at all.
JJ Fludd will return to the backcourt after he’s done on the football field this season. Fludd currently has over 2,000 yards rushing and 36 Touchdowns for the Cyclones.
