Brayden Lytes Brayden Lytes 5'9" | PG Greer | 2024 State SC (Greer HS) – Brayden Lytes Brayden Lytes 5'9" | PG Greer | 2024 State SC has a really impressive highlight reel. He might be a little under-sized, but he is still one of my favorite Point Guards to watch in 4A. Lytes has very good feet and is a handful for defenders to keep out of the paint. He also is capable of knocking down of perimeter shots or two per game to keep defenders honest. He even has a very strong lower body, and is probably one of the best rebounding guards in the Upstate.
Elijah White Elijah White 6'4" | CG Hilton Head Christian Academy | 2024 State SC (Hilton Head Christian) – Before you turn on the tape for Elijah White Elijah White 6'4" | CG Hilton Head Christian Academy | 2024 State SC , the physicals jump out: a 6’4″ CG with really good athleticism. On the tape, he makes plays on both ends of the floor. Elijah is very quick with the ball in his hands and loves to get out and run in transition. He has a good feel for the offense with good court vision. On the defensive end, his athleticism stands out but he is also adept at taking charges.
Darius Carr Darius Carr 6'7" | PF Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC (Gray Collegiate) – Darius is a strong and athletic big who will play for Gray Collegiate Academy this season. On film he dominated offensively, showing an ability to score facing up or with his back to the basket, run the floor in transition, and consistently knock down the perimeter shot. He also will own the paint on defense too, protecting the rim and securing the glass.
Erik Lipsey Erik Lipsey 6'1" | SG Daniel | 2024 State SC (Daniel HS) – Erik has some of the best defensive films that I’ve seen during this series so far. He is an absolute nuisance on that end of the floor. Lipsey has good length, great hands, and terrific instincts that allowed him to force turnover after turnover on tape. He was also capable of finishing in transition and knocking down a shot behind the arc too.
Robert Watson Robert Watson 6'2" | CG Philip Simmons | 2024 State SC (Phillip Simmons HS) – Robert showed a strong ability to score the ball on film. He is very determined in getting to the basket, but is also a very confident outside shooter. He has a quick first step that allows him to frequently beat defenders and find open lanes to the paint.
Qayden Turner Qayden Turner 6'6" | SF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC (Hilton Head Christian) – Qayden Turner Qayden Turner 6'6" | SF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC is another wing from Hilton Head Christian who submitted his film for review – and he too is tantalizing physically at 6’6″ with good athleticism. Turner is a consistent scoring threat from multiple levels of the floor. He is also very capable of making plays for himself and his teammates off the dribble. On the defensive end, Qayden’s size and athleticism allowed him to protect the rim at a high level.
Cameron O’Kelley Cameron O’Kelley 6'3" | CG Seneca | 2024 State SC (Seneca HS) – Cameron doesn’t have the flashiest of highlight reels, but he certainly will be a solid Guard at the next level. O’Kelley showed a great feel for the game and a talent for creating good looks for his teammates. Cameron has a very good handle but can also create for himself off the dribble.
Damon Howey Damon Howey 6'0" | CG Camden | 2024 State SC (Camden HS) – Damon is a big time scoring threat. He can play either spot in the backcourt, capable of creating his own shot or being a spot up shooter. Howey also showed good quickness and a nice handle. He is very good at using that handle to make space for his jump shot, but he also kicked to an open teammate when help defenders overcommitted.
Alcee Culler (TL Hanna HS) – Alcee showed a lot of confidence with the ball in his hands on film. He was very creative in attack mode around the paint, but also was capable of stretching the floor and shooting from the perimeter. He also had some solid plays on the defensive end too, taking a charge and creating other turnovers.
Happy Lea Happy Lea 6'3" | SF Woodruff | 2024 State SC (Woodruff HS) – Happy submitted his highlights from the recent Prep Hoops SC Top 250 Expo, where he was featured as one of the Top Performers. Lea has an impressive combination of size and athleticism. He is a solid defender, but a dominant offensive threat. He excels in transition and finishing above the rim.
Tanner Epps Tanner Epps 5'11" | SG T.L. Hanna | 2024 State SC (TL Hanna HS) – Tanner is one of the best shooters in the Upstate, but on film he showed another level to his offensive game in addition to the shooting. Many of his defensive matchups attempted to run him off the three point line, and when they did, Epps made them pay there too. He had some very nice plays scoring off the dribble in the mid-range and at the rim, and even had some nice dump off passes to bigs.
