Continue ReadingOrchard has shown high level awareness in the halfcourt, making plays in an efficient process. Getting to his opportunities in two or fewer dribbles, the tall guard is active making decisions quickly. Active, attempting three point attempts or attacking closeouts from the catch, Orchard is an excellent complementary option. The guard is excellent while attacking baseline, capable of utilizing reverse finishes through traffic. Recently receiving an offer from Doane, the senior is starting to gain momentum and notoriety. Orchard steps into a large role yet again with Fruita Monument, following averages of 8.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Highlights
An excellent complementary scorer and perimeter defender, Hoefs brings high energy every possession. Especially valuable at taking away passing lanes, the guard has quick instincts that lead to steals and deflections. On the ball, he is quick to close out shooters while staying low should opponents take a pump fake. With an excellent floater, the guard can get high arcing shot attempts past incoming contests. If the lane presents itself, Hoefs is quick to target driving lanes off the catch.
Highlights
Bowling is a capable shotmaker off the dribble or from distance. Possessing a consistent release off the catch, he creates plenty of leverage from three point attempts. Converting a high percentage of three point attempts throughout the summer and last season, the guard will be an impactful floor spacer. Bowling is additionally proven as a downhill scoring threat, at his best attacking a closeout or off the cut. One area that cannot be glossed over is the guard’s willingness to crash the glass, leading Pine Creek in rebounds this past season.
Miskovic does an excellent job shooting the ball from beyond the arc, typically off the catch. They do a great job of filling space to remain an offensive threat at all times. Proactive cutting to the rim or being available for outlet passes in transition, Miskovic will be especially valuable to a perimeter oriented Ponderosa program.
Chapman brings a high motor on the defensive side, aggressive on ball screens or dribble handoffs. Especially assertive attacking ball handlers, the guard is sure to cause immediate pressure and dig into opponents. Another value has been his shooting ability off the catch, capable of stretching multiple feet behind the three point line. Chapman has one of the quickest releases in the class, making him especially difficult to deal with off the ball. Given how far he can stretch out the defense, Chapman has ample room on drives towards the rim.
Tafoya maximizes his role within the offensive flow, a dynamic guard. Effective spacing the floor off the catch, the guard is an impactful three point shooter with minimal space. Capable of rising up shots past the contest, Tafoya is impactful off the catch or while stepping into attempts off the bounce. They were proactive attacking the paint, awaiting the closeout to rip through for a drive or quick mid-range pull-up jumper. Defensively, Tafoya can hold up against opposing lead guards, quick but strong versus backcourt opponents.
