Group 3 is one of the most intriguing groups in the state as multiple teams have the chance of taking home a sectional championship. The 2024 crop has talent and should put their talent on display this season, especially in the backcourt. Here are the 2024 Group 3 point guards to watch this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1406998' first='Semaj' last='Bethea'], 5'10 Camden Eastside

Bethea returns to the Tigers and will be looking to lead them back to the Group 3 title. The St. Augustine transfer has a good handle and quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the rim. Bethea has a good touch in the mid-range and can thread passes to teammates in the halfcourt. He uses his quick hands to get deflections on defense and has the ability to play off the ball as well. Bethea is an electric, lead guard prospect who should make plays all season long for Camden Eastside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1407095' first='Cohen' last='Cook'], 6'0 Mainland

Cook helped propel the Mustangs to a 24-4 season in 2022-23 and will be looking to build on it in 2023-24. The 6'0 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he is a strong finisher and is unafraid of drawing contact. Cook knows how to get to his spot on the floor and rarely takes bad shots in the halfcourt. He is a strong rebounder for a guard his size and works hard on defense. Cook's ability to finish around the rim is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466439' first='Chris' last='Cervino'], 6'1 Ramapo

Cervino was a big part of the Raiders' Group 3 title run and will be looking to repeat in his senior season. The 6'1 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Cervino is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finish. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated defender. Cervino is a sharp-shooting guard prospect who should torch the nets for Ramapo in 2023-24.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107663' first='Brendan' last='Brunnock'], 5'11 Mendham

Brunnock has had a strong summer and should carry it over into the winter. The 5'11 guard has a clean shooting stroke and can knock down triples in bunches. Brunnock does not get rattled by on-ball pressure and finishes nicely around the basket. He can get deflections on defense and is an underrated passer. Brunnock has the potential to have a big senior season with his ability to stretch the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1407083' first='Jaeden' last='Jones'], 6'0 Colonia

Jones' collegiate career is on the gridiron, but he will make plays for the Patriots on the hardwood. The Monmouth football commit attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes nicely at the rim and can make layups through contact. Jones plays with good court vision as he can thread passes to open teammates in the halfcourt. He can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter and slides his feet on the defensive end. Jones is a gritty guard prospect, who will make plays for Colonia at both ends of the floor.
