These players have already had an impact on their respective programs but could also get on the radar of the rest of the state as well as college coaches. The 2025 class is already poised to be the biggest and best recruiting class in WV basketball history. The state is quickly developing into a D2 & D3 basketball factory with out of state college coaches foaming at the mouth to get here and land some of the many recruits, many on this list could be viable options at both of those levels.
Nick Janey Nick Janey 6’6″ | PF Winfield | 2025 State WV is a recent transfer from Winfield to AA power Poca. Nick will not only look to have a breakout year but will also look toward a possible trip to Charleston where Poca is no stranger. Janey’s length could be a problem for many AA opponents with his ability to step away from the paint and stretch a defense. An offseason of strength training could put Janey in some recruiting conversations very soon as bigs at every level are at a premium. While Poca’s style of play doesn’t lend itself to huge stat sheets, Janey’s biggest steps towards recruitment will certainly come on the defensive end.
