Continue ReadingWestern Oregon held its annual elite camp on Sunday and a number of the state’s top players from the Classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 were in attendance. The competition was fierce as all of these players looked to make an impression on the Wolves coaching staff, namely head coach Wes Pifer and associate head coach Bryan Fisher. After looking at our notes and talking with others who were in attendance, here’s a look at the top shooters on the day:
Damian Acosta Damian Acosta 5'9" | PG Hillsboro | 2024 State OR (2024 Hillsboro)
Acosta didn’t get a ton of opportunities, but there was one he certainly made count. His contested, buzzer-beating, game-winning corner three in his team’s last contest of the day alone earned him a nod on this list.
Nick Ghetie Nick Ghetie 5'11" | PG Lakeridge | 2024 State OR (2024 Lakeridge)
Ghetie just missed out on our All-Camp squads. The senior was solid with his shot from the perimeter, especially during the latter games as he kept going while other players may have gotten a little tired.
Jason Grady Jason Grady 6'5" | SF Westview | 2025 State OR (2025 Westview)
As noted on his mention on the All-Camp Second Team, Grady was wet all day with his jumper. It wouldn’t surprise us in the least if the junior ranks among the 6A leaders in three-point leaders per game this upcoming season.
Cole Hammack Cole Hammack 5'10" | PG North Marion | 2025 State OR (2025 North Marion)
In every event we’ve attended Hammack has proven he has the marksmanship from the perimeter to make any all-shooters squad and Western Oregon was no exception. He continues to be a diverse scoring threat but the junior shot the ball well from deep on Sunday.
Braydon Ace Long Braydon Ace Long 6'0" | CG Willamette | 2024 State OR (2024 Willamette)
One thing we always expect out of Long is for him to hit threes and he lived up to expectations at camp. He simply found his groove spotting up on the wing and waiting for the kickouts to catch, shoot, and score – lather, rinse, and repeat.
Keenan Reckamp Keenan Reckamp 6'1" | PG Southridge | 2025 State OR (2025 Southridge)
Solid day from the perimeter for Reckamp, who similar to others is more than just a standstill shooter as he can utilize the dribble to create space for himself. He was especially dangerous from the corners while his lefty floater in the lane was still money.
Dylan Westermeyer Dylan Westermeyer 6'6" | SF Oregon City | 2024 State OR (2024 Oregon City)
Another All-Camp honoree, Westermeyer looked really smooth with his lefty jumper. He hit open shots on the catch-and-shoot but also was capable of using dribbles and fakes to free himself and still knock them down.
