These are five competitors that displayed that they all have some skill out on the floor during the PH WA Top 250-Expo, in more than one facet of the game. I believe each of these players could step onto the court next season for their perspective high school’s and give them some production. Will they? That’s a completely different question that will be answered over time. As for now, they will just have to worry about what they can control while keeping on their grind in the meantime.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
#284 – Vincent Crow Vincent Crow 6'3" | CG Issaquah | 2025 State WA – 2025 – 6’4 – PG/SG – Issaquah High School
Vincent Crow Vincent Crow 6'3" | CG Issaquah | 2025 State WA was one of the more impressive guards that competed at this Top 250 Expo. Crow is 6’4, crafty with the ball in his hands and a natural athlete. There was a few times where Crow dribbled past his defender at the top of the key and went into the middle of the lane, leaving his feet and looking for a monster dunk over multiple defenders. Sadly, he never got one to fall because of he was either fouled prior or lost control of the ball at its peak in the air. I’m not too informed on the Washington boys high school basketball scene but I would be surprised if Crow didn’t see the varsity floor this winter for his Junior season. He is overall a positive to have on the floor from everything I’ve seen.
#335 – Drew Metke Drew Metke 6'4" | SG Capital | 2025 State WA – 2025 – 6’4 – SG – Capital High School
Metke may have been someone that I mentioned before but no matter, he has length and good movement with his natural height on the court. Metke is at his best when he is off of the ball and running off of screens but he can handle it a little bit as well. Some people have size as in height, some have size as in length, and some have size as in weight. Metke has size as in length in this case. This helps him get tips on the defensive side of the floor, while being able to finish over smaller defenders on the offensive side of things. Metke had a solid showing at this event and I’m sure he can build from that moving forward.
#214 – Diego Garza Diego Garza 6'0" | PG Eisenhower | 2024 WA – 2024 – 5’10 – SG – Eisenhower High School
The physical build of Diego Garza Diego Garza 6'0" | PG Eisenhower | 2024 WA reminds me a lot of Fred Van Fleet’s in high school. Someone who has broad shoulders, a solid base with his legs, and some muscle to go along with his 5’10 frame. On the court Garza is not afraid to let it fly from deep. He starts games with the catch-and-shoot three, then works off of that. He also displayed that he has the ability to catch and put it on the ground, getting all the way to the teeth of the defense for an assist or an easy layup, or he can get to a midrange spot and let it fly for a jump-shot. Defensively I would say Garza is just as solid. He gets into his opponents dribble and stays physical when that player is trying to drive by him. All in all, when Garza keeps it simple, he makes good choices and that leads to success for himself and the teammates around him.
#320 – Jackson Foster Jackson Foster 5'10" | PG Hazen | 2026 WA – 2026 – 5’10 – SG – Hazen High School
Jackson Foster Jackson Foster 5'10" | PG Hazen | 2026 WA has a promising future on the basketball court. Someone that may not have had the most standout day on the offensive side of the ball, was a solid producer throughout the day as a whole. Foster was setting screens, helping his teammates up after a loose ball, diving into the stands for loose balls himself, listening to what the coaches wanted in key moments, and most importantly-he stayed positive through it all. There isn’t a ton more left to say about Fosters game other than I think going forward, he could turn into a nice prospect before his high school career comes to an end. He definitely works hard enough for it, there is no doubt about that and his foundation is there. He just needs to keep on grinding.
#243 – Asher West Asher West 6'2" | SG Northwest Christian | 2024 State WA – 2024 – 6’2 – PG/CG – Northwest Christian High School
Asher West Asher West 6'2" | SG Northwest Christian | 2024 State WA is a player of opportunity. Someone that picks and choose his spots throughout a game, as to when he should attack and finish, compared to attacking and passing it to an open teammate or not attacking at all and letting the offense run its course. West stands at 6’2 with some bounce to his game. He had a few dunks at this Expo, along with some impressive body control while finishing through contact at the rim. The West brothers are a fun show to watch. If you are located in the state of Washington, I would grab a seat to an upcoming game this winter because these two could put on a show.
