Take your pick from any of three Decorah Vikings for this honor, but we’ll side with Bockman, who was excellent as a junior for a team that was more shorthanded than they expected to be.
First Team
2024 Ben Bockman Ben Bockman 6'5" | SF Decorah | 2024 State IA (Decorah): 22.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.0 steals, 47.0 FG%, 37.5 3P%, 81.4 FT%
A versatile 6-4 wing who can really shoot it off the catch, Bockman was strong on both ends of the floor last season for the Vikings and will be able to play off the ball more this season with the addition of Driscoll and return of McCain.
2025 Zach Driscoll Zach Driscoll 6'0" | SG Decorah | 2025 State IA (Decorah): 20.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 4.2 steals, 51.5 FG%, 85.4 FT%*
Driscoll spent his first two years at MFL MarMac before transferring to Decorah for his junior season, where he’ll provide the Vikings with a dynamic three-level scorer and playmaker in the backcourt. He’s extremely quick with the ball in his hands and has a great feel for the game.
2024 Treyton McCain Treyton McCain 6'1" | PG Decorah | 2024 State IA (Decorah): 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.4 steals, 86.0 FT%*
After missing his entire junior year with a knee injury, McCain will be back on the floor and pacing an exciting Vikings attack. A dynamic two-way player who uses his speed to his advantage on both ends of the floor, he should have a big senior year in this up-tempo offense.
2024 Cole Marsh Cole Marsh 6'6" | SG Waverly-Shell Rock | 2024 State IA (Waverly-Shell Rock): 14.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 steals, 50.0 FG%, 40.7 3P%
Marsh will play college football at Iowa, accepting a preferred walk-on offer to play tight end. But he’s a really good basketball player as well who uses his big, physical frame and athleticism to create space to get his shot off. He’s a pure shooter with a quick release both off the dribble and the catch.
2024 Kam Mestas Kam Mestas 6'5" | PF Charles City | 2024 State IA (Charles City): 15.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steals, 58.7 FG%
Mestas is a big, athletic wing scorer who is at his best when he’s getting to the rim for finishes or pounding the offensive glass (2.6 a game as a junior). With his size (6-5) and ability to create for himself and his teammates, he’s a matchup problem within the NEIC.
Second Team
2024 Matthew Bockman (Decorah)
2024 Noah Frazell Noah Frazell 6'1" | SG Waverly-Shell Rock | 2024 State IA (Waverly-Shell Rock)
