The preseason teams are one way to do so. Highlighting some of the top players in each class is a sure fired way to get the juices flowing for the season. We will begin with Class C in Louisiana. Some of these players put up major numbers and this group will probably be no different. With that said, let us look at the 10 players that make the first and second preseason teams for Class C.
1st Team
Kadyn Collins Kadyn Collins 6'4" | SF Ebarb | 2024 State LA (6’4″ | Ebarb | 2024)
De’Avery Durham (5’10” | Gibsland-Coleman | 2026)
Javonte Ford Javonte Ford 6'4" | SG Pleasant Hill | 2026 State LA (6’4″ | Pleasant Hill | 2026)
Caleb Bevill (6’1″ | Calvin | 2024)
Aiden Sandifer Aiden Sandifer 6'0" | PG Singer | 2024 State LA (6’0″ | Singer | 2024)
The preseason first team in Class C are some of the better performers on this level. They have played a ton of basketball and they are guys that should lead their teams this season. Collins was a big help to Ebarb in the Class C final in 21-22 which they lost in OT. He is a high level rebounder who can score in the paint. It would not surprise me if he averages a double-double in points and rebounds this season. Sandifer was a second team performer last season averaging 21 ppg. He may have an uptick in scoring which may help Singer move deep into the postseason. Bevill was on the best small school preps in Cenla. He should make the all-state team easily being one of the best scorers on this level. Durham has played in Lake Charles consecutive seasons winning one state title. He will be looking to lead Gibsland-Coleman to a third appearance as arguably the best scoring point in the classification. Ford has the upside and potential to be the best player in the class. Pleasant Hill was young last season. If Ford has a big season, watch out for the Eagles.
2nd Team
Parker Alexander (5’11” | Hornbeck | 2025)
Cole Doucet (6’0″ | Starks | 2026)
Dalton Goode (6’1″ | Fariview | 2024)
Kaleb Gregory (6’0″ | Claiborne Christian | 2025)
Jordan Jones (6’2″ | Family Christian | 2024)
The preseason second team members have potential to be members of the LHSAA’s team at year’s end as well. Doucet was one of those members. His 20-plus point scoring potential will hopefully help Singer avoid another first round bow out like last season. Goode is one of the leading returning scorers for a Fairview team who made Marsh Madness last year. His rebounding and scoring should help Fairview make another run this season. Alexander is one of the top point guards in the class. He may need to step up his scoring this year. His ability to change defense to offense quickly will help Hornbeck in their championship efforts. Gregory is one of the best shooters in the Boot. His scoring and passing should help him be an extension of Coach Brown on the floor as well as help his team contend. Jones is a force on the boards and he can score on the perimeter and in the paint. He will help Family Christian maintain their usual status as a contender.
The Class C season begins with jamborees October 23rd. Look for these teams or teams in local areas to hit the hardwood for real on October 30th.
