Tons of impressive prospects were on display and many were looking to make a name for themselves going into school basketball season. Let’s take a look at some of the most impressive forwards who showed many different attributes while on the floor.
Brody was the most impressive hybrid forward I was able to watch at this event. He displayed an impressive skill set of being able to balance an outside jumpshot and working on the post inside. Brody was able to constantly take advantage of the defense underneath the basket, using his size and length to finish over the top of his matchup and also showed his ability to run an effective pick and roll, curling to the basket for an easy layup every time down the floor. He also was able to hit many open jumpers down the floor in transition, spotting up on the three point line for easy looks and also capitalizing on being left open by the defense in the midrange. Knowles was also spectacular on defense, blocking several shots on the perimeter and at the basket.
Robert was one of the biggest bucket getters for his squad in the post during this event. Robinson was effective at juking out his matchup on his way to the basket and finished several and-1 layups over the defense with ease. Robert could handle the ball when needed and was also clutch in the passing game always knowing where his teammates would be on the floor. Robert was a constant vocal player on defense, calling out screens and communicating to his squad where the ball was on the floor. Robinson could be a big time player for his school this year if he continues this level of impressive play.
Brayden was effective in finishing at the rim in his matchups. His teammates were adept at throwing him alley-oops driving towards the basket and Williams was able to catch several of them and throw down thunderous dunks. Williams also possesses great footwork on defense and was able to slide in front of his matchup on defense, drawing several charges in the paint as well. Brayden was high energy and locked in during all of his squads contests and was a constant source of motivation to his teammates, as well as throwing off the opponent’s game by getting in their head. Look for him to raise his stock going into the school basketball season.
