Throughout the next couple of days, Andrew Johnson and myself will recap of who stood out from the event and providing analysis on every prospect who attended the camp. This article features the top players who stood out for Team 7:
Sean Ben
Sean Ben
Sean Ben, A 6-2 junior forward is a big-bodied prospect with smooth handles of a guard. Ben showed his ability with his great hands and touch in the paint where he can finish at the rim. He is also an excellent rebounder where he can finish put-backs and has continued to improve his footwork since the beginning of his sophomore season. Look for Ben to continue to play with more physicality on the offensive end this upcoming season as he has gotten stronger with the basketball in his hands.
Jacob DeWildt
Jacob DeWildt
Jacob DeWildt, A 6-3 junior wing made a living on the interior where he showed his ability to finish on both sides of the rim at a high level. DeWildt has continued to improve his footwork as well where he is playing under control but will look to gain more consistency in his outside shot. On the defensive end, he handled inside the 3-point line effectively but his body placement will be the next step for his game to elevate to a new level.
Ethan McDonald, A 6-3 senior guard was hands down the best prospect I saw from Team 7 as he was in full-attack mode from the opening jump. McDonald has also continued to improve his outside shooting and it was on display at the Prep Hoops Top 250. McDonald has been shown interest from Coastal Alabama, Calhoun CC and West Florida so far in the fall recruiting period. On the defensive end, McDonald showed a ton of versatility where he can guard multiple positions and has shown great footwork on the interior. Be on the lookout for McDonald to have a breakout senior season this year.
Highlights
William Reyes
William Reyes
William Reyes, A 6-4 junior wing is a tall, athletic and long wing who showed great promise handling the guard position for Team 7 at the Prep Hoops Top 250. Reyes is a three-level scorer who played both ends of the floor at a high level. He was unafraid to finish at the front of the rim while absorbing contact getting to the free throw line on numerous occasions.
Ace Walker
Ace Walker
Ace Walker, A 6-0 senior combo guard displayed great catch-and-shoot awareness at the Prep Hoops Top 250. His handles were also smooth from the guard position showing great court vision and playing with an unselfish knack to get his teammates involved. His footwork without the basketball in his hands was also fun to watch as he made great cuts towards the basket to find his spots finishing around the rim. Really excited to see where the recruitment process takes Walker as he has the intangibles to be a college prospect.
