Surprising Talent
Jackson Penigar
Jackson Penigar
Jackson was channeling the spirit of Glen “Big Baby” Davis as he was channeling that PF grab and go style. He was clearing things up with that strength and he was pulling down rebounds and pushing the tempo. He hold his own on defense and his faster than you might think. He can defend 1-5 and the kid can move as he has some solid moves and a handle when he is attacking the basket. He has a good outside shot and when he was active on offense away from teh ball he was really tough to handle. He is a monster on the “O” boards.
Don’t know what Owen ate or drank before the showcase but the kid was in his bag. He was hitting big time shots and some were contested. He moved without the ball and he was solid as a PG. In one game the kid was unstoppable as players were switching taking their turn and was hitting deep three after deep three and then he mixed it up and hit tough lays. He had 40 in that game. Bingham has a secret weapon that they can definitely use as a zone buster for sure.
This youngster has some of the most elite explosion you will see, especially for his size. The lead guard can jump and it heps him finish and get rebounds but that burst is also seen as he gets open on quick rip and go drives. Makai can also create space onhis shots and he is seeing the floor well. Expect him to have a big year for Provo.
Tyce Oyler
Tyce Oyler
This kid was holding his own against kids two to 4 years older than him and I will say this. We have seen the shooters in that Class of 2028 class and i am not sure anyone can compete with this kid. He is a big time bucket. The kid has NBA range already. Those Oyler boys can sure shoot. Tyler might have averaged 4 three-pointers a game easily yesterday. Keep an eye on this kid.
Kid is bigger and stronger and he is skilled, jumps well and has a lot to offer as his all-around game is popping. Do not be surprised when he has a big year for Sky ridge, he has really turned the corner in his development.
