Competing at the 2023 IA Top 250 Expo were 90+ players, separated into 12 different teams. As well as being a scout in the building for the day, I was also a coach on Court 3. I had the privilege of coaching Team 11, a handful of times throughout the event, giving me an inside look as to what each player excels at individually and what they need work on moving forward. I will be listing each player by their jersey number assigned at the event (for video purposes if someone wants to look back on BallerTV), name, current height, current position, & the high school they are currently attending.

#407 - [player_tooltip player_id='1751093' first='Tyler' last='Hinz'] - 2024 - 5'9 - PG - Maquoketa High School

Hinz is a smaller point guard but he plays a physical and determined game. On offense he has the ability to take him man off the dribble and get himself a basket or he can pass and spread away from the play to become a knock-down shooter. He works equally hard on both sides of the ball, while being a stout defender with his on-ball pressure a majority of the time. I saw a lot of positives out of Hinz games on Sunday and I hope that translates onto the high school court this season. I think I will be in attendance for his first game of the season this winter and I can't wait to see what he can bring to the table.

#408 - [player_tooltip player_id='2204876' first='Joseph' last='Kamara'] - 2026 - 5'9 - G - Prairie High School

A player that is the definition of a hard worker is [player_tooltip player_id='2204876' first='Joseph' last='Kamara']. Kamara makes his presence known in little ways out there on the floor. Wether it be diving on the floor for a loose ball or talking to a teammate about a mid-game adjustment, Kamara is always making a difference here and there, throughout ball games. Prairie High School is going to have a good run of guards on their varsity team over the next few years. Kamara will need to keep working on the skill side of his craft if he wants to see a lot of playing time but if he stays locked in, it's more possible.

#411 - [player_tooltip player_id='2204892' first='Sam' last='Blair'] - 2026 - 5'9 - SG - Waukee NW High School

I would call [player_tooltip player_id='2204892' first='Sam' last='Blair'] a glue guy but when he has the ball in open space on offense, he is as shifty as they come. Blair is a shooting guard that can also move the point if need be. There wasn't a ton of times that he had the ball on offense against my team on Sunday but when he did, he was tough to guard. His movement is hard to stick with and it doesn't get easier as the game goes on for his defenders. I'd say Blair had a nice day overall that he should be proud of.

#424 - [player_tooltip player_id='2204864' first='Carlos' last='Kirui'] - 2024 - 6'0 - PG/SG - Waukee High School

[player_tooltip player_id='2204864' first='Carlos' last='Kirui'] hit a nasty misdirection, AND-1 three pointer, INTO my bench when he played against my team and it was sooooo clean. The type of move that even made me go, "OH WOW", as the opposing coach. Kirui is a point guard at heart and you can tell that as soon as he steps onto the court. He handles his teams offense, moves players where they should be, and can make things happen when plays break down in this setting. Defensively, he doesn't do anything crazy but stayed in front of his opponent and made them take difficult shots. As a coach, thats' all you can ask for. I'm pretty impressed with Kirui on the day from a couple different points-of-view.

#436 - [player_tooltip player_id='2204893' first='Tyeece' last='Collins'] - 2025 - 6'1 - G - Roosevelt High School

One of the more calm and collected players that I saw competing on the day was [player_tooltip player_id='2204893' first='Tyeece' last='Collins']. Collins is the type of player that keeps the game at his pace whenever the ball is in his hands. He knows the spots he wants to get to on the offensive side of the floor, while being very good at defending multiple positions on the defensive side of things. Collins is the type of player that had spurts of solid skill throughout the day on display He is a talent that I think can help Roosevelt high school this winter if he stays locked in and is used in the correct setting.

#453 - [player_tooltip player_id='1587370' first='Caleb' last='Dyvig'] - 2025 - 6'2 - SG - Waukee High School

The natural length of [player_tooltip player_id='1587370' first='Caleb' last='Dyvig'] up close is eye-opening. Dyvig stands at 6'2/6'3 and would be described at the high school level as a SG/CG but in reality, the higher division he would play in college, the more he would be a Shooting Guard in my opinion. Dyvig displays the ability to defend the guard positions on the high school floor at a high rate, while being able to switch onto a bigger matchup and get a block/tip in key moments of ball games. Offensively he is productive. Someone that can knock down shots from deep over bigger players off the catch or someone who can take their defender off of the dribble for a better look, closer at the rim. All in all, Dyvig has one of the higher ceiling at this Top 250-Expo in my book but we will just have to wait and see how he does this winter at Waukee High School.

#468 - Jhikeith McGraw - 2024 - 6'1 - SG - Prince Of Peace High School

McGraw showed me a little bit of everything during his Game on Court 3 at this event. He stayed aggressive attacking a very skilled, larger post player. He knocked down shots from deep when the ball was rotated to him from another driving guard. He rebounded over smaller players every chance he could get. & he did all he could guarding a bigger player in the post for the majority of the contest. McGraw showed me a lot of heart in this one. If he does that this winter, i'd be surprised if he doesn't see the floor in some facet.

#469 - [player_tooltip player_id='1288897' first='Logan' last='Wagemester'] - 2024 - 6'1 - PG/SG - Prairie High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1288897' first='Logan' last='Wagemester'] did a lot of good things when I watched him compete. He understood his role and tried to make the most of it. If he wasn't trying to run the offense, Wagemester was stepping into a corner, ready to knock down a shot if the ball came his way. Overall, he has a good feel for the game and that was apparent. He doesn't hold the ball too long, holding up the offense and is solid at defending his position off the dribble. Wagemester has a good foundation. He just needs to continue to build off of that this winter moving forward.
