In this series, we will be a look at some quick hitters, the top player, potential breakout player, other roster roster members and notable games of the upcoming season. For today’s spotlight, we take a look at the Greensburg Pirates.
Quick Hitters
- Finished 20-7 last season.
- Lost to Scottsburg in Regionals
- 15-straight winning seasons
- Long time head coach Stacy Meyer retired in offseason
- Shaun Busick enters year one as Greensburg head coach. 436-250 overall record as a head coach.
Top Player: Jack McKinsey Jack McKinsey 6'3" | SG Greensburg | 2025 State IN
McKinsey is a 6’3 smooth guard that is an excellent shooter, both off the catch and off of the dribble, but really impresses with his improved quickness and athleticism. Does a lot of the dirty work at times but can score so well off the wing. More of hybrid forward/guard that can give you a few options of how to use him. An under-the-radar player but should be the go-to guy for Greensburg this season.
Potential Breakout Player: Addison Barnes-Pettit Addison Barnes-Pettit 6'4" | SF Greensburg | 2024 State IN
Barns-Pettit will return as the senior leader for the Pirates this season. Barnes-Pettit is a bruising post player that plays like a workhorse and has some of better versatility out of his position in the in-state 2024 class. Strong, athletic wing that drives it well, is tough to stop on the perimeter, and rebounds his position very well. Small schools have shown interest and with a breakout season, more will get involved.
Notable Games (Confirmed)
- at Connersville (1/5)
- vs Lawrenceburg (1/26)
- vs Madison (2/10)
- vs Seymour (2/13)
- vs South Ripley (2/17)
