Mid-September Bartlett High hosted the annual PrepHoops 250 Expo with wonderful talent. The following evaluations are exclusively focused on Team 3 players.
Mashad Griffin Mashad Griffin 5'9" | PG Overton | 2027 TN (Christian Brothers)
Mashad Griffin Mashad Griffin 5'9" | PG Overton | 2027 TN was a little clever trapping the opponent by pinning him down into the corner where his teammate was waiting to provide cover. Griffin appeared to be a fast basketball thinker, especially so for a freshman.

Juan is in fantastic shape. Toned. Fit. He is spirited and focused at every moment. He finds his joy in the open floor. Fast. He does not make mistakes from overzealous dribbling. He will forever be a shorter guard beyond high school though his marketable physical attributes are quickness and strength.
Drew many fouls.
Prideful. Needs to be more vocal with his teammates. He sees the game faster than most, but teammates will benefit from him leading with more voice, more authority. The ball will often be in his hands.
Andrew Ford Andrew Ford 6'2" | CG Lausanne Collegiate | 2024 State TN (Lausanne)
Ford made one of the best passes of the early afternoon. As the ball rotated from the near corner to his wing spot he instantly shot it down low to the now-open teammate. Good usage of the big strides. Andrew is more potent as a slasher than a shooter.
Despite his productivity as a driver, Ford astutely delivered perfect kick-out passes on occasion. Both Cash Coates Cash Coates 6'2" | SG Walker Valley | 2024 State TN and Isaac McElroy made wide-open three-pointers thanks to Ford attracting attention and collapsing the defense prior to finding them.
Stronger passer with his left-hand than his right-hand.
Lefty Ford finished a delicious left-handed finger-roll late in the night. Again his best play occurred when he decided about 15′ out to get to the rim. His speed with the ball was an asset. Springy.
Justin Standifer (Power Center Academy)
Uneven commitment defensively. A little wiggle to his dribble. Quick leaper. Can dribble with a few flashy moves. His defense is occasionally atrocious and well beneath his capabilities. Athletic. Rebounds well at the defensive end.
Cash Coates Cash Coates 6'2" | SG Walker Valley | 2024 State TN (Walker Valley)
Smooth shooting stroke. Cash was one of the top catch-and-shoot guys all day. Moved really well away from the ball. He had a knack for finding shooting pockets and being dangerous instantly upon the catch. Wonderful when left open. Steady with the dribble. His team didn’t need ball-handling, so he was not asked to give it. Any evaluation on that front would be premature.
Isaac McElroy (Cascade)
Scrappy. Isaac needs to improve his quickness though as multiple times the speed of the defense caused him a little trouble. Fought for all rebounds. Consummate teammate. Decent catch-and-shoot guy. McElroy needed to get more bounce in the open floor. He is tall enough that he should be finishing above smacking, reaching guards instead of “letting” them into the play.
Cade Murphy Cade Murphy 6'5" | SG Knoxville Catholic | 2026 State TN (Knox Catholic)
Sees the floor like a point guard. Even though he is constantly surveying the options and the floor, Cade is also capable of rising up while creeping into the halfcourt offense via the dribble. Cade scored in so many beautiful ways. He is already smooth with the Euro, the back-down, the baby-hook. He will live at the free throw line throughout his high school days.
A glorious lefty layup found the bottom of the net after Murphy drove hard to the 6′ area mid-lane. He expertly used his body to fend off the defender, essentially keeping along for the ride but nowhere near the layup release.
