Player Comments with coach Lane Volts
Camden Kraemer Camden Kraemer 5'10" | CG Bismarck Century | 2026 State ND |5’7 G| Century
“Camden had a great summer on the AAU circuit. His strength is in his ability as a lead guard to control the tempo, get to the rim, finish over bigger defenders, and be an absolute knockdown shooter. He’s a kid that lives in the gym, and as he grows and gets stronger he is going to develop into an elite player for Bismarck Century.“
Owen Scoville Owen Scoville 5'11" | SG West Fargo | 2026 State ND |5’11 G| West Fargo
“Owen’s first-step quickness is unmatched at this level, it shows in that he also sees time on the varsity football field. He’s a strong lefty guard that really developed his shot as the summer went on as well, and rises quickly and above defenders on his midrange pullup. He has a bright future in the program.“
Aiden Simek Aiden Simek 6'0" | SG West Fargo | 2026 State ND |5’10 G| West Fargo
“Aiden is the kind of guy that every coach wants on his team. He’s coachable, does the little things, and is able to execute anything drawn up. Aiden has a floater game with great touch and a consistent 3-point jumper, shown in a personal 12-0 run to secure a win in St. Cloud.“
Noah Herr Noah Herr 5'11" | SG Bismarck Century | 2026 State ND |5’11 G| Century
“Noah is a strong athlete for this level with a really smooth game. He finishes extremely tough going both ways and is able to control his body in the air with the best. He’s always had a nice outside shot but became far more consistent as the summer went on. Another multi-sport athlete, Noah will do big things for Century going forward.“
Xander Hanson Xander Hanson 5'11" | SG Bismarck Century | 2026 State ND |5’11 G| Century
“Xander is yet another multi-sport stud for Century. He’s a strong guard and can fill any position defensively as he plays bigger than his size. His defensive prowess leads to a lot of easy scores in transition but has no problem knocking down a step-back jumper with great control.“
Jack Julson Jack Julson 6'0" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2026 State ND |6’0 G| Legacy
“Jack is a fast-twitch athlete with a sneaky good scoring package. He’s always finishing off two feet with a floater or a strong lay. He has good length and with his feet set, will not miss an open 3-pointer. Look for a lot of varsity minutes from Jack in the upcoming season for Legacy.“
Colton Cruchet Colton Cruchet 5'11" | SG Central Cass | 2026 State ND |5’10 G| Central Cass
“Colton is a tenacious defender and a strong lefty guard from a powerhouse Central Cass program. His tenacity on the floor leads to defensive stops, easy buckets, and has a knack for hitting timely 3’s.“
Joey Kraljic Joey Kraljic 6'3" | SF Bismarck Century | 2026 State ND |6’1 SF| Century
“Joey is a grinder in every sense. He can play 1-5 on the court, is a strong and savvy offensive player, and draws more charges and 5-second calls than anybody I’ve seen. Coach Mattern is going to love Joey in the coming years, and again, he is another Century multi-sport athlete.“
Isaac Jacobson Isaac Jacobson 6'2" | PG Park Christian | 2026 State MN |6’1 G| Park Christian
“Isaac is an exceptional athlete, proven by his 6’3″ high jump and the fact that he saw significant time on the floor as a freshman for Moorhead Park Christian. He outjumps defenders at the rim and can get extremely hot from 3.“
Q&A with Lane Voltz
PHD: How would you sum up the season for your squad?
“A very up and down season! Some great weekends and some that we did not play up to our potential. Happy to say that we were in every game we played and finished around .500 for the spring and summer.“
PHD: What are some of the highlights from the season?
“A 4-0 weekend in Chicago playing with 6 guys was the season highlight. Each game having someone different with a big individual performance and being capable of going off was a ton of fun.“
PHD: How did you and your team overcome adversity?
“It felt like no matter how far back we were in a game, we were never out of it with our scoring ability. With no timeouts in a game at Apple Valley, we were able to erase a 30-point deficit with 10 minutes to play.“
PHD: Who were a couple of your top shooters?
Camden Kraemer Camden Kraemer 5'10" | CG Bismarck Century | 2026 State ND – “Quick release, catch and shoot or off the dribble.“
Jack Julson Jack Julson 6'0" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2026 State ND – “Consistent corner threat.“
PHD: Who was your most improved player?
“ Isaac Jacobson Isaac Jacobson 6'2" | PG Park Christian | 2026 State MN really grew in confidence over the summer and his game flourished with that.“
PHD: Who were some of your hardest workers?
“ Joey Kraljic Joey Kraljic 6'3" | SF Bismarck Century | 2026 State ND and hard work go hand in hand!”
PHD: Who was your best defensive player?
“ Aiden Simek Aiden Simek 6'0" | SG West Fargo | 2026 State ND is as scrappy as they come, plays incredibly hard, and is a really smart defender.“
PHD: Which tourney was the most fun?
“As stated above, Chicago was the best basketball-wise, but getting to know new players and families off the court makes every tournament worth it.“
Best of lunck with school ball, see you on the circuit this spring!
