Grassroots season has ended, the high school season is still a couple months away, and fall leagues haven’t started in full force yet. These are the couple of months reserved for getting back to school and starting the football season. However, in 49 other states it is just basketball, but this INDIANA. Prep Hoops Indiana is your 365-day a year source for content and we will never stop coming up with unique series to satisfy the hunger for year-around news. We’ve recently ran several series including updated prospect rankings, high school spotlights, top prospects regardless of class, and several others. Now, let’s dive on in to a new series which will highlight the best uncommitted prospects at each position. Here are the top five uncommitted shooting guards.
One of the top shooters in the state of Indiana, Parrish is coming off of a monster junior season that saw him be named to the Indiana Junior All-Star Core Team. He has good size on the perimeter, solid athleticism, and moves into his shot very well with a quick release. Parrish has been recruited at a high level by some of the top programs in northern Indiana including Division II Purdue Northwest and Crossroads League powers like Grace and Marian.
Houser has continued to see his college interest soar heading into his senior season. He had a strong summer with Indy Heat Red and has proven himself as a pure scorer and shooter against high-level competition. Anytime you come across a 6’4″-6’5″ prospect with his level of skill both as a guy who can be a secondary playmaker off of the dribble and a catch-and-shoot threat beyond the arc it is going to attract a lot of college attention. He currently lists offers from Bethel, Grace, Indiana Tech, Lake Superior State, Mid-American Nazarene, Northwood, and Tiffin.
Highlights
There are few perimeter players on the board in the state of Indiana with better pure athleticism and physical tools than this Pike High School product. Casky is explosive when attacking closeouts, playing in transition, and can play above the rim at the end of his drives. He shot a high percentage from beyond the arc on a decent volume as a junior as well. Look for him to potentially be a stock-riser during his senior season.
A high-academic prospect with a lot of upside at the college level, Miller was excellent in month of June with Scottsburg and gained a lot of traction with college programs at various levels. He is has excellent size on the perimeter at 6’5″, is an efficient scorer at all three levels offensively, and has the ability to guard 1-4 on the defensive end. As a junior, Miller averaged 15.1 points per game on 56.5/46.6/84.1 shooting splits for the Warriors as they advanced to the Class 3A Semi-State.
Fine can play both on or off of the ball and proved that at a high-level this summer playing with Indiana Elite on the 3SSB Circuit. He handles the ball very well, has good court vision, and has the strength necessary to play through some contact while maintaining control. The 6’3″ guard can also catch-and-shoot from beyond the arc when playing off of the ball. College programs at a variety of levels have continued to follow him and Fine should see his recruitment really take shape going into his senior season at Noblesville.
