Top B Prospects
2022-23 Season: 16-7 (Lost in SoDak 16)
Stats: 15 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.3 apg, 55 FG%, 34.2 3FG%, Third Team All-State
Season Outlook: The Gorillas should be a Top 10 team to start the season. Mitchell is an elite talent & athlete. He is also surrounded by some quality talent. Gregory will make it to the SoDak 16 Game again this year, PHD is predicting Mitchell to a have an explosive senior year and to perform well in the playoffs. Look for the Gorillas to be playing in the State Tournament this spring.
2022-23 Season: 23-3 (State Champions)
Stats: 9.7 ppg & 5.3 rpg at State Tournament
Season Outlook: De Smet will be one of the top teams again in Class B and I will not be surprised if they win it all again. The Bulldogs are tough, smart, great on defense, they dominate the glass, and they play smart/team basketball. Jensen will be one of the best defenders and rebounders in the State. George had a fantastic offseason and PHD believes that he will be an All-State performer.
2022-23 Season: 23-3 (7th Place at State)
Stats: 19.3 ppg, 4.5 apg, 5 rpg, 3 spg, 43 3FG%, Second Team All-State
Season Outlook: The Longhorns bring their top two players back this season and they will be ready for another State Tournament. This season they will be looking to be on the right side of the bracket and to make a run for the crown. Schauer is a smooth shooting lefty and a deadeye from deep. You will not find a better shooter in Class B.
2022-23 Season: 11-10 (Lost in Region Tourney)
Stats: 18.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 4.5 apg, Third Team All-State
Season Outlook: The Hawks should be an improved team this season and Ortman will once again be one of the elite players in B. He certainly is a special athlete that is no stranger to making splashy plays. Tage is also a lockdown defender. Ortman and Kjetland will make a deadly duo for opposing teams. Everyone will struggle handling the Hawks physicality and toughness.
2022-23 Season: 20-6 (5th Place at State)
Stats: 16.3 ppg, 3.7 apg, 2.4 rpg, 2.5 spg, Second Team All-State
Season Outlook: The Warriors should be a Top 3 team entering the season as they have experience, size, athleticism, shooting, and toughness. Tvedt is an all-around baller that knows what it takes to win games. Tvedt is skilled, smart, and a 2-way playmaker. Look for Tvedt and the Warriors to be back at the Big Dance in Aberdeen when March gets here.
2022-23 Season: 21-6 (4th Place at State)
Stats: 17.8 ppg, 4 rpg, 5.3 apg, 3 spg, Third Team All-State
Season Outlook: The Tigers always make it to the State Tournament, so why would 2023-24 be any different? Marshall is a senior and he will be ready to lead the team to the promised land also known as Wachs Arena. Nic had a quality offseason and the Tigers had Uhlir transfer in, so we are expecting White River to be one of the best once again.
2022-23 Season: 15-6 (Lost in Regions)
Stats: 19.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.7 apg, 2.1 spg
Season Outlook: He put up All-State type numbers last year and those will only improve in his senior season. PHD is predicting Gaspar to be All-State and for the Cardinals to make a State Tournament run. DRSM has a talented squad with athleticism, skill, and team players. Gaspar improved over the offseason and he is one of the top athletes in the State. Watch out for the Cardinals and Mr. Gaspar.
2022-23 Season: 9-12 (Lost in Regions)
Stats: 23.1 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.5 apg 2.7 spg, 113 FT’s made Third Team All-State
Season Outlook: Only one other player on last years All-State Team averaged a double-double, that puts Mr. Cotton in elite company! Layne lives at the FT-line, he is great at getting into the paint and drawing contact. He is a legit 3-level scorer with a sweet pull-up game. Obviously, Cotton is a dawg on the boards. I would imagine that the Trojans will be an improved team this year, Layne should be ready to lead Faulkton on a playoff push come March.
2022-23 Season: 23-3 (7th Place at State)
Stats: 17.3 ppg at State, shot a high percentage from 3pt all season
Season Outlook: PHD sees Selby and Schauer as a dynamic duo and one of the best one-two punches in South Dakota. I do not know if there is a better 3-point shooting combo in the State. Caden is a mismatch headache because of his extreme height and lethal shooting ability. He also runs the floor well and scores in transition. Will Faith get back to the Barnett Center? PHD says YES!
2022-23 Season: 7-13 (Lost in Regions)
Stats: Unavailable, but look for Jake to be highly productive this year
Season Outlook: The Dolphins should be an improved squad this coming season. It is going to be tough to make it to the SoDak 16 with De Smet and Castlewood in Region 2 but you never know and upsets do happen. Jorenby is primed for a breakout senior season. Jake is a big wing with athleticism and a versatile scoring package. He will also lock up on defense and clean the glass.
