For the rest of this week, we will take a look at each individual roster, breaking down this huge crop of talent from around the Pacific Northwest, player-by-player.
To lead us off, here’s a look at Team One:
Jaxson Spafford Jaxson Spafford 5'10" | PG Milwaukie | 2025 State OR (2025 Milwaukie)
The 5-foot-10 transfer from Putnam showed off a really smooth stroke from the outside, capably hitting threes from beyond the arc. More than just a shooter, he had the quickness to get to the hoop especially in transition.
Steven Adams Steven Adams 5'11" | CG McNary | 2025 State OR (2025 McNary)
Adams was one of the top head turners at the event. One of the quicker players around, he used his speed to get past opponents on drives and was dangerous with his pull-up jumper. The lefty has extremely fast hands and combined with his tenacity, was a menace on the defensive end.
Keijiro Nguyen Keijiro Nguyen 5'11" | CG North Salem | 2024 State OR (2024 North Salem)
The North Salem senior didn’t get a ton of touches but when he did, used his evident basketball IQ. The guard has a solid outside shot, often looked to make the extra pass, and was solid on defense.
Asher Vredenburg Asher Vredenburg 5'11" | CG Roseburg | 2024 State OR (2024 Roseburg)
Vredenburg was extremely aggressive in looking to create by getting to the hoop. He fearlessly attacked the basket and wasn’t afraid to go right at defenders. While his outside shot was a little streaky, he showed the potential to get hot from deep.
Kaiden Smith Kaiden Smith 6'0" | CG Mountainside | 2025 State OR (2024 Mountainside)
A well-built combo guard at 6-foot, Smith was a solid team player throughout the event. He set screens, got physical on defense, hit the boards, looked for teammates, and took the open shot when it was available for him.
Joey Banry Joey Banry 5'9" | PG North Eugene | 2024 State OR (2024 North Eugene)
As one of the most dynamic floor leaders at the Expo, Banry was tough for defenders to handle. Using his toughness and hard dribble, he was able to get where he wanted to on the court to score the ball or find open teammates on the drive and dish.
Evan Morrison (2024 Nathan Hale-WA)
One of the out-of-state participants from Washington, Morrison was one of the bigger hustle guys there. He seemingly was always around the basketball and in the right place at the right time to get outhces and make a score. He sank a number of jumpers and was a good finisher in transition.
Asher Smith Asher Smith 6'4" | SF Corvallis | 2025 State OR (2025 Corvallis)
Smith may have been a little undersized at 6-foot-3, but his toughness made up for his lack of height in the paint. The lefty powered his way to buckets in the paint but also showed the ability to shoot it from mid-range a bit.
Owen Hopkins Owen Hopkins 6'3" | SG West Albany | 2025 State OR (2025 West Albany)
A wing with solid size at 6-foot-3, Hopkins showed the ability to score both inside and out. He used his strength to score through and over defenders in the paint but was also able to face up, hit the open shot, or create off of the dribble. Hopkins was solid on the boards as well.
Hudson Guthrie Hudson Guthrie 6'4" | SF Sunset | 2025 State OR (2025 Sunset)
One of the more versatile offensive players we saw on the day, Guthrie equally scored as much around the hoop as he did facing it. The 6-foot-5 swingman hit shots off the catch and shoot but also got out and got a number of buckets in transition. He used his length to his advantage on the boards and on defense.
