Continue ReadingElite prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) continue the annual ritual of announcing that they will be changing high schools for next year. With the NCAA transfer portal jamming up high school recruiting, we expect the steady stream of talented players switching schools to continue here at the end of August. Many of them will chose to reclass into a later graduation year.
At Prephoops.com we will do our best to track all the player movements and pass that information on to our readers.
Below is the thirteenth installment in our Transfer Watch 2023 series.
Nigel Adamson Nigel Adamson 6'8" | PF Cristo Rey Philadelphia | 2026 State PA – 6’5” / 2026 / Cristo Rey Phila. / Kings Unlimited / Power Forward: Adamson (formerly of Upper Moreland) is a long, athletic, and powerful combo-forward. His offensive game is still developing, but he is extremely effective at scoring on post ups and via the offensive glass. Adamson possesses good rim to rim speed, so he frequently beats his man down the court for a lay-in. In addition to transferring to Cristo Rey, he will reclass into 2026 graduate year.
Brant Byers Brant Byers 6'8" | PF Newman School | 2024 New E – 6’8″ / 2024 / Newman School (MA) / Team Thrill / Power Forward: One of the top stretch-4 prospects in the Class of 2024 is departing Perkiomen School and headed to Newman School in Massachusetts. His tremendous performances on the July circuit helped produce offers from William & Mary, Holy Cross, Iona, Bradley, Mount St. Mary’s, Marshall, and Miami (OH).
Nolen Gerwer – 6’7″ / 2025 / BFL Prep / PMT Warriors / Small Forward: This athletic and versatile forward with endless energy was a reserve for Archbishop Carroll last season. Gerwer then had his breakout stretch of play during the 2023 spring / summer grassroots. During that stretch Gerwer showed he can finish fast breaks above the rim and score via the offensive glass. He even knocked down the occasional three ball. In addition to transferring, Gerwer will also reclass into 2025 graduation year.
Brendan Horan – 6’5″ / 2025 / Perkiomen School / East Coast Power / Wing: One of SEPA’s biggest 2025 stock risers just announced via his social media accounts that he is transferring to Perkiomen School (2023 PAISAA state champions). Horan scores at all three levels, can guard 2 through 5 and is not afraid to do the dirty work that produces wins. Over the last five weeks Horan has picked up offers from LIU, Akron, and Old Dominion. In 2022-23 he played for Archbishop Carroll.
Emmanuel Kenyi Emmanuel Kenyi 6'2" | PG Phelps School | 2024 State PA – 6’2″ / Post Grad / Phelps School / Hilltopper BC / Shooting Guard: Injuries limited Kenyi to just twelve games during his senior year at East Stroudsburg North. However, across those contests he averaged 20 points per game. He pumped in 7 treys on his way to 33 points against Dallas Area. Kenyi also netted 21 points on the strength of 5 made threes against Allentown Central Catholic. In addition to hitting triples, Phelps is getting a player who also excels in transition and is a plus defender.
