August 21st-22nd Cedric Cobb Sr and I had the 6th annual Southwest Basketball Camp at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. 120 players from four states came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.

Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 60 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-20, Top-40 and a Non-Senior All-Star Game)

We start breaking down each team.

Next up is Team Oregon State

[player_tooltip player_id='1953640' first='Zane' last='Connelly'] Dysart

A pure point guard who is always looking to set up his teammates. He is a team player and will facilitate and score. He can shoot the three and will use the runner or lay it in.

[player_tooltip player_id='2133604' first='Christian' last='Pundt'] Mountain View Marana

A decent sized point guard is a smart player. He moves the ball, handles the rock well and makes good reads. He can shoot the catch three with good ball rotation on his jumpers and will have a big year for the Mountain Lions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2136401' first='Gavin' last='Lewis'] Cactus Shadows

A good sized rising sophomore point guard has a good feel for the game. The lefty has a little flash in his game and can find cutters and open shooters. He can hit the three with some success and burst into the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875722' first='Ethan' last='Ulrich'] Cactus Shadows (Pictured)

A scoring combo guard made it look easy in a few games. He can hit the catch three, he can get to the basket plus throw it down above the rim on the break. He is a sneaky good passer and he uses his upper body strength and lateral quickness to defend on the ball. He made the Top-20 Game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2136402' first='Marcos' last='Rodriguez'] Cienega

A stronger combo guard had a good showing. He can make plays for others with an unselfish nature and is a good passer. He can finish at the rim plus rattle in threes off the catch. He plays the right way and has high effort on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2134328' first='Joshua' last='Puente'] Mica Mountain

A point guard who is tough and has skill. He reads the court quickly with drive and kicks straight into a shooting pocket. He can hit the catch three with a very quick release and uses his stronger upper body to handle the pounding inside. He should lead the Tucson team to the playoffs. He made the Non-Senior All-Star Game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1276753' first='Ayden' last='Madi'] Brophy Prep

A natural scorer from all three levels. He scores it around the rim with offensive rebound put backs, he can catch and shoot it from mid to the three plus has a tough euro move that he can score in traffic and kiss it off the glass. He always seems to be in the right spot on defense and he made the Top-20 Game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1390361' first='Keon' last='Talgo'] Gilbert Chrisitan

Another scorer with a strong frame and high skill. He plays the passing lanes well and is very physical in the paint to score and almost bounce off the post defenders. His best trait is definitely is shooting. He has got a clip he uses from both perimeter levels and gets hot quickly. He made the Top-40 Game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1950138' first='David' last='Rodriguez'] St. Mary's

The Mingus HS transfer is a high wire power forward with surprising athleticism. He plays very hard with a real motor (easily one of the best motors) to rebound and defend in the paint. He scores it best around the basket but can step out a little and shoot it. He made the Top-40 Game.
