SubscribeProspects from the 2029 class will soon be making a name for themselves on the national scene and Prep Hoops Next was able to get their eyes on a number of them this summer. We will continue to identify and talk about new prospects from the 2029 class as we head into the fall and winter but below are five prospects from the current 2029 class that caught our attention this summer during our time in the gym…

AZ Select Show was led by Turner Armstrong this summer as he showed he is a lights out shooter for his team was lights out shooting the ball for his team. The Coolidge, AZ native had a breakout game at the One Six in Las Vegas, NV when he finished with 18 points in a defeat against the historically known Georgia based program, Atlanta Express. 12 of Turner Armstrong’s points were from behind the arc as Armstrong’s coaches and teammates have the utmost confidence whenever he shoots the ball. Armstrong also showed that he is a reliable defender for his team and always has the ability to slow down the opposition’s guards.

Bacot has established himself already as a household name in the 2029 class and he showed why during multiple tournaments this summer. The skilled guard has an impressive scoring package for someone of his age and is always very hard to defend. Bacot is a lefty that can shoot from all areas on the floor, get past defenders consistently, and facilitate the ball to his teammates. Not many people can slow down Bacot and throughout the summer he continued to show why he is near the top of the list in the class of 2029.

The younger brother of former Virginia Cavalier point guard Kihei Clark, Nula Clark is beginning to make a name for himself on the west coast. During his time in Springfield, VA in late July, he helped lead Squad Basketball win the 6th grade division of the Middle School Championship Series in Springfield, VA. He showed that he has the ability to impact the game on both the offense and defensive end of the floor. Nula’s older brother, Kihei, was known to be an enforcer on the defensive end and it looks like those traits are carrying over to Nula as he was very successful in slowing down some of the top guards from the 2029 class during the Middle School Championship Series.

Arguably the top 2029 team in the country, Squad Basketball Club made noise all summer long. Freddie Forbes is the lead guard for Squad and did a tremendous job for them during the summer grind. For a rising 7th grader, Forbes has a tremendous feel for the game which stands out right away when watching him. He has an array of moves because of his advanced ball handling skills which gives defenses headaches whenever opposing teams are trying to guard him. As Forbes continues to grow and get older, he has been on the top guards Prep Hoops Next has seen from the 2029 class.

Team Loaded 2029 has been one of the top teams in the country from the sixth grade. Behind Bacot, Michael Roper showed that he is a threat to score the ball whenever it is in his hands. He has shown that he is capable of putting up some big-time performances and if he continues to prove that with the amount of talent he has surrounding him, this Team Loaded group will be exciting to watch in the years to come.
