Continue ReadingThe 6-foot-8 forward showed stretch capabilities when it mattered most, hitting a crucial late corner three in Osborne’s 58-57 come from behind win against Christian Heritage. Weems was effective in the paint, scoring on putbacks and baseline drives and jumpers. His length and springiness are impressive. Hakeem totaled 15 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal.
King, who was a double-double machine last year in the fall league, recorded 12 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in a 51-49 win against Whitewater. King is quick off the floor and has a good nose for the ball. While he often does the bulk of his scoring in the paint, Nile is smooth enough to attack from the perimeter, getting downhill or shooting from the mid-range.
Highlights
The D-III prospect was rock-solid with 12 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Carrollton. Bell sank a pair of threes, scored from the mid-range and netted a basket in the post. Jack uses his strength well when 10-feet and in, able to score with his back to the basket and implement the pivot to his advantage.
Joe stripped the nets with two threes before finishing with 10 points and 3 assists. The svelte southpaw played with confidence. Not only did he stretch the floor, Womack was able to find success off the dribble using his spin move.

Camden packed a punch with 10 points, helping balance the Woodstock offense. He scored with both hands and was able to convert through contact. Smith netted a three and went 4-5 from the foul line. Camden has some nice wiggle to his game and is a solid ancillary scorer for his age.
Woodland’s one-man wrecking ball dumped in 15 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in a loss to Woodstock. Zyon was able to create off the dribble, hitting floaters, pull-ups and spacing the floor with his three-ball. Heath is an active player that plays bigger than his listed 6-foot-2 height. He pounds the glass and has the right mindset to lead the Wildcats. It was a strong Week 2 for Zyon.
Seyi made his season debut and didn’t disappoint. Long, spindly and bouncy, Daramola collected 9 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks. Seyi is a defense-first anchor that alters shots consistently. Don’t be surprised to see him contend for the league lead in blocks.
