Waters moves over from Westover. The big guard has shown flashes of his upside over the course of his career. He’s at his best when attacking the rim, able to absorb contact.
Chase has a knack for coming up big in crunch time, whether it be delivering a perfect strike to a teammate for a buzzer beater or racing down the length of the court to beat the clock to send the game to overtime. Williamson can play both on and off the ball. He has quality size on the perimeter. Chase is a very good passer off the bounce. He averaged 8.2 points per game last year for the Wolverines.
Birmingham-Southern offered in June during GBCA Live. Jack is a strongly built off-guard that can hit the three and use his body when getting to the basket. He has improved his ball handling against pressure. Bell adds value with his strength on the backboards and can help defend multiple spots in spurts.
Rakestraw earned Region 6-6A Honorable Mention a season ago. He is a burly swingman that can play inside and out. He can sink the open jumper, get to the basket and make an impact on the glass. Quentin gives first-year Head Coach Eric Blair toughness and veteran leadership to rely upon.
Keep an eye on the Christian Heritage swingman. Crowder is teetering on a breakout season. He brings great athleticism and versatility, able to play all over the floor. Dontae is an X-Factor with his Swiss Army Knife skillset. For the Lions to win a state title, Crowder will have to play a key role.
I really liked what I saw out of Caleb Samples Caleb Samples 6’4″ | SF Union Grove | 2025 State GA in a small sample size last year. He’s a skilled combo-forward that can play inside and out. He shoots well from the perimeter and is springy in the paint. He saw sparing minutes with the varsity team last season but was impactful in the Fall League, averaging 9 points and 4 rebounds.
The king of three-point shooting, Hughes broke the Union County single-season record as a sophomore netting 92 threes. Hayden averaged 12 points and 4 rebounds while shooting 42% from three. He’s a specialist that can burn teams when left open.
