Continue ReadingIf there was an MVP award for the RYZE Fall League, Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 5’11” | PG Hiram | 2024 State GA would be the unanimous front runner after week 2. Williams went for 35 points on Tuesday night after putting up 32 the week prior. With Hiram’s football players out, Williams has shouldered with weight with no issues. Despite being undersized, Williams has been getting to the cup with ease and finishing consistently through traffic. The burst and quickness are at an all time high. If there were any questions left about Williams, he’s answering them right now.
Isaac Plavich Isaac Plavich 5’10” | PG Christian Heritage | 2025 State GA has taken a significant step heading into his junior year and he’ll make for an excellent sidekick next to Jax Abernathy Jax Abernathy 6’4″ | SG Christian Heritage | 2024 State GA before taking the torch next year. Plavich is an old school point guard, always looking to free up an open teammate. When he gets the open looks, Plavich shoots the three at a high clip and we saw some of that on Tuesday. He’s speedy in the open floor and scored a handful of easy buckets in transition. Plavich is certainly one of the more underrated 2025 prospects coming out of north Georgia.
Isaiah Chandler Isaiah Chandler 6’3″ | CG North Cobb Christian | 2027 State GA was the difference maker for North Cobb Christian in their win over Hiram on Tuesday night. Chandler’s hustle exceeded that of anyone on the court, a countless number of rebounds and steals that truly shouldn’t have been his. Offensively, Chandler made the most of his scoring opportunities and hit a couple shots in the flow of the game. While Chandler has the skillset to eventually become a volume scorer, I think defense and energy will be his calling card this season.
Highlights
Kaiyu Huffman
Kaiyu Huffman
Kaiyu Huffman was huge for Kennesaw Mountain down the stretch as they won a 54-51 nail biter with Model. Huffman is a fundamentally sound point guard that could provide a steady backcourt presence for this new-look Kennesaw Mountain squad. He’s got deep range as a shooter which was on display Tuesday as Huffman nailed the 25-footer to take the lead with 2 minutes left. Kennesaw Mountain seems to be in search of a leader and Huffman could be exactly that.
Keelin Malone
Keelin Malone
Devyne Stephens Academy is quickly gaining relevance down on the southside and while it can be a number of guys on any given day, Keelin Malone left his mark all over Tuesday night’s win. Malone is a terrific on-ball defender with some really quick feet. He’s got a great motor too and runs the floor hard each time down. Malone will likely thrive in a 3 & D role alongside a talented cast at Devyne Stephens this season.
