Prep Hoops hosted yet another successful event in the sunshine state on Sunday at the Seminole Sports Academy where student-athletes were provided a platform to showcase their skills and compete with and against their peers. PH Scouts were in attendance to note any standouts from the event for our readers and coaches to evaluate. Let's get into some of the top guard prospects from the PH Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126655' first='Luke' last='Holcomb'] | G | Class of 2027 | St. Johns Country Day | @Holcomb_Luke11

Holcomb was another three-point sniper that I left impressed with at the PH Freshman Showcase. The rising left-handed guard can get to the basket or spot up for perimeter daggers. Wasn't afraid to take tough shots and the basketball IQ are some of the things that stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125473' first='Curtis' last='Asberry'] | G | Class of 2027 | William M. Raines | AAU: Jr.Pros

Asberry finished as one of our top standout guards, making a name for himself at the PH Freshman Showcase. Effort, consistent shooting, and limited turnovers are some of what describe his game. His IQ and knowledge of the position are what stood out for me. Still has plenty of time to develop his bag and grow his frame.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125477' first='Dylan' last='Reach'] | CG | Class of 2027 | St. Johns Country Day | @DylanReach4

Reach had one of the longer frames for 2027 guards that attended the event on Sunday. Reach is listed at 6'5, 180-pounds, and has plenty of time to work on his overall game. Had a few good buckets that I made note of. His untapped potential and ability to add to his frame makes Reach an intriguing prospect to watch develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='2123128' first='Jeremiyah' last='Shepeard'] | G | Class of 2027 | Tampa Prep | @JyahShep

Has a good jumper and isn't afraid to get his buckets near the rim. He made some acrobatic finish layups look easy on Sunday. *Shepeard is a rising freshman guard from the state of Delaware who has transitioned to the sunshine state and relocated to Tampa Prep where he will see his game develop around a good program.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125493' first='Ja'kyrin' last='Smith'] | PG | Class of 2027 | Palmetto | AAU: [program_tooltip program_id='2076735' first='Manatee' last='Pal']

Despite the smaller size, Smith was one of the better shooters at the event and not afraid to create opportunities on the offensive side.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125501' first='Markel' last='Holmes'] | G | Class of 2027 | San Jose Prep | Insta: @your_boy_holmes | AAU: 904 Elite

Another lefty with shifty handles and a good shooting stroke. Holmes had himself a solid day on both sides of the floor, good enough to earn his name on the standout list.
