On Saturday, August 12th I attended Christian Polk's Hoop Summit at the brand new Paragon Academy in Chandler. AZ.

I focused my attention on 17U and here were some of the senior standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='2123443' first='Sergio' last='Ramirez'] Canyon View (Team Rise N Grind) (Pictured)

A newcomer for me shined. He is a two way player who is tough. His has good lateral quickness and toughness. He can rattle in triples and shoot it from mid-range. The lefty can step back from the three and he made one incredible block in traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='1976306' first='Jayden' last='Davis'] Desert Edge (Team Rise N Grind)

A jack of all trades type of wing. He is a little undersized but checks a lot of boxes. The lefty gets downhill with a quick burst to get to the basket and will score at a high rate around traffic. He does tend to favor his left but takes long strides and will defend multiple positions with a big motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1953640' first='Zane' last='Connelly'] Dysart (Team Rise N Grind)

A pure point guard with a good handle, feel and passing acumen. He can shoot perimeter jumpers and get to the basket with a quicker burst. Once he is near the rim, he shows good body control and he is scrappy on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275428' first='Zander' last='Kamai'] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select)

A lefty scoring lead guard is a three point sniper. He has a sneaky quick to burst to get by his defender and changes speeds well. His floater game in the lane is tough and he has clearly got stronger in the last year. He hit a step back three in clutch time to eventually win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1202070' first='David' last='Jackson Jr'] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select)

A well built athletic wing forward. He has an impressive frame and gets downhill scoring thru contact. He is a smart player who can make plays for others and will hit the three with some success.

[player_tooltip player_id='2123371' first='Brooklyn' last='Swindle'] Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select)

A marksman who is a deep three point shooter with a quick release. He has a stronger upper body and can change speeds to create some separation and can throw a strike to a teammate. He will pull up from anywhere on the court and also handles contact well inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1159406' first='Kaden' last='Garber'] Chandler (Hoopers Only 17)

A sturdy framed scoring point guard. He likes getting downhill with his body and strength and can step back and shoot the three. He is a very smart floor general and will score thru contact. His mid-range pull-up is becoming his best move.

[player_tooltip player_id='2123465' first='Conor' last='Doka'] Red Mountain (SR Ba'ag)

A thicker framed shooting guard. One of the best passers in 6A that you have never heard of. An elite feel with precise timing. He can hit the 3 and changes speeds well plus uses his stronger frame to get downhill.

[player_tooltip player_id='1312333' first='Kenny' last='White'] St. Mary's (SR Ba'ag)

A scoring lead guard is a better passer then he gets credited with since he needs to score at St. Mary's. He can shoot the three with a quicker release and pull-up. He has strong hands to rip some pockets and is good on the glass for an undersized guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986832' first='Logan' last='Johnstad'] San Tan Charter (SR Ba'ag)

A strong power forward who can shoot the three and is an unique post player. He has elite hands and feel with real passing skills for his position. He can throw that Kevin Love outlet pass and knows the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2123470' first='Malachi' last='Morrow'] Leading Edge Academy (Showtime)

An athletic scoring guard is fast in the open court and can put the ball in the hoop. He often cuts for easy points and can rattle in threes with high elevation. He shows good body control in the air and plays with a lot of energy. He should have a big year for the Spartans.

On Saturday, August 12th I attended Christian Polk's Hoop Summit at the brand new Paragon Academy in Chandler. AZ.
