ECI 17U Selects: Year-End Review

Today we are looking at a talented group of seniors from [program_tooltip program_id='2078372' first='ECI' last='']. Coach Lund was the head man for [program_tooltip program_id='2078372' first='ECI' last=''] 17U selects and they have a intriguing roster. 17U Selects saw success this spring/summer and just as important, they improved! We were able to see everyone get better and really grow as a team. When we had our whole group we were tough to stop this spring and summer. Showed up to every tournament and went as hard as he possibly could. Really shot it well this summer and as the summer went on did a much better job taking care of the ball. One kid I never had to think twice if he was going to box out and pursue a defensive rebound." He can really defend the ball with pressure and was great at getting O-boards for us this year. Throughout the year he really progressed in his ability to use the pick and roll and get great shots for himself or teammates. He is set for a huge year." AJ was also one of our better rebounders this year he really took a step on the O boards." If you took Turos on-the-block post presence at the beginning of the summer and compared it to now you would be shocked at how far he has come in these last 3 months. Q&A with Colton Lund   PHD: What are some highlights that stick out?   "This season brought many highlights! We had games where [player_tooltip player_id='1164105' first='Turo' last='Moni'] got hot from deep. In one game in Chicago, everyone had a couple of 3s and [player_tooltip player_id='1540726' first='David' last='Schilling'] hammered a dunk down Main Street. [player_tooltip player_id='1144932' first='Bohden' last='Duffield'] had a terror of games in Chicago getting hot from deep as well. The biggest highlight would be the team finally playing their best ball in Chicago heading out of there boasting a 4-0 record!"   PHD: How did you overcome adversity?   "We had to overcome some adversity this year, missing someone at every tournament except the very first one. It's always tough playing without everyone there on a consistent basis but the guys battled!"   PHD: Who was your best shooter?   "[player_tooltip player_id='1164105' first='Turo' last='Moni'] - Great catch-and-shoot ability. With his feet set always thought it was going in."   "[player_tooltip player_id='1144932' first='Bohden' last='Duffield'] - Great ability to hit tough jumpers and create his shot."   "[player_tooltip player_id='1144931' first='Bishop' last='Duffield'] - Great catch-and-shoot guy. With his feet set, another kid I thought the ball was going in every time."   PHD: Who improved the most this season?   "Most Improved - [player_tooltip player_id='1168165' first='Carson' last='Eggert'], the kid went 100% all summer long and came in as almost strictly a catch-and-shoot guy. By the end of the summer, he was one of the best defenders on the team and could rip and go past any defender."   PHD: Who worked the hardest on your team?   "Hardest workers - [player_tooltip player_id='1454708' first='Oliver' last='Jensen'] and The Duffield Boys. No doubt in my mind, any college coach would love to have a guy like Ollie on the team. Plays hard all the time, is a great teammate, and never takes a game off. Tough as nails kid. The Duffield boys saddled up to play every game as well, being ball-hawks on defense and never taking a play off offensively. Getting extra rebounds became a strength for Bishop by year's end."   PHD: Who was your best defender?   "[player_tooltip player_id='1454708' first='Oliver' last='Jensen'] was the best defensive player on my team. Went hard 24/7 and would pick guys up half or 3/4 court and make things difficult for them."   PHD: What tournament was the most fun?
