DMV Freshman Showcase: Team 1 Evaluations

<p>I will be posting evaluations based on what I observed from every team that participated in the DMV Freshman Showcase. Here is a look at those who played on Team 1. </p>

<p><strong>Walton Butler | Yorktown (VA)</strong></p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>Butler is a 6'0" guard who stood out as a good shooter from standstill situations. He has a good skill base to build from. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2353657' first='Kaylen' last='Chilton'] | WT Woodson (VA)</strong></p>

<p>Chilton is currently tracking among the top guard prospects in his class. He is a very good athlete who can score at will, facilitate, and defend. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2353528' first='Kirby' last='Duran'] | Bishop McNamara (MD)</strong></p>

<p>Duran was definitely one of the better scorers at the event. He plays at his own tempo and changes speeds effectively. Duran should be commended for making an effort to share the ball with his teammates and communicate on defense while competing consistently on that end of the floor as well. </p>

<p><strong>Ryan Malungah | Huntingtown (MD)</strong></p>

<p>Malungah is a 5'9" guard who made some smart off-ball cuts. I saw him convert a runner over the top of a defender in the lane with his left hand.</p>

<p><strong>Elijah Miles | Paint Branch (MD)</strong></p>
<!-- /wp:paragraph -->
<!-- wp:paragraph -->
<p>Miles is a 5'5" guard who uses his quickness to get past defenders. He also uses the threat of his perimeter shot by pump faking to attack closeouts. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2353549' first='Jordan' last='Taylor'] | Bishop McNamara (MD)</strong></p>

<p>Taylor is listed as 6'2" but plays much bigger. I'd venture to guess his wingspan is taller than his height. Taylor was one of the better finishers I saw at the event. He protects the ball effectively in traffic and has good footwork. </p>

<p><strong>Timmy Vincent | Colgan (VA)</strong></p>

<p>Vincent is a 5'7" guard who has an eye for a good pass. He is efficient with the ball and is always looking for a cutter. </p>
