1.) 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1381408' first='Zach' last='Driscoll'] (Decorah) - 108 steals

Driscoll's 108 steals are second among returnees around the state, regardless of class, behind just former MFL teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2325439' first='Wyatt' last='Powell']. He's a high IQ guard with quick hands and feet that he uses to make an impact on the defensive end.

2.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1376707' first='Bo' last='Otto'] (Clarke) - 68

Otto is a fast guard who has a knack for jumping passing lanes and leading a potent Indians break. In addition to his work on the defensive end, he dished out 8.2 assists a game last season.

3.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1171696' first='Jack' last='Cooley'] (Clarke) - 67

We've kind of run out of things to say about Cooley, considering this is his fifth appearance on a top-10 returnees list (out of six). His length and athleticism cause a lot of problems on the defensive end.

4.) 2024 Brandon Mahler (Perry) - 61

Perry won more games last season than in the previous four years combined, and Mahler's two-way play was a major reason why. He averaged 11.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.8 steals a game. He's a quick guard who positions himself well and uses his quick hands to make an impact on the defensive end.

5.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1587752' first='Reed' last='Pfaltzgraff'] (Bondurant-Farrar) - 61

Pfaltzgraff is a really good athlete with great size and length on the perimeter that he uses to get into passing lanes and turn defense into offense. He's really good in transition as a passer or getting to the bucket and finishing above the rim, and with his combination of size, length, and athleticism, he's a dynamic two-way player who will be a star for the Bluejays this season.

6.) 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765518' first='Jude' last='Gibson'] (Ballard) - 59

Gibson was dynamic as a freshman, averaging over 15 points and 4 assists a game to go with his prowess on the defensive end. He uses his speed to his advantage on both ends of the floor, and his high IQ and positioning on the defensive end allow him to be a menace on that side.

7.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1376724' first='Luke' last='Wiebers'] (Denison-Schleswig) - 55

A high IQ 6-2 guard, Wiebers is a difference-maker in every aspect of the game, averaging 12.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists a game last season for the Monarchs.

8.) 2024 Jake Beatty (Independence) - 54

A long guard who does a good job getting into passing lanes, Beatty was a quality option on both ends of the floor for the Mustangs last season, averaging 10.2 points and 2.9 assists a game in addition to his defense.

9.) 2024 Leif Boeding (Fort Madison) - 53

A quick 5-11 guard with a penchant for thievery, Boeding also led the Bloodhounds in assists last season, dishing out 2.6 helpers a game.

10.) 2024 Cael Turner (Creston) - 52

Turner led the Panthers in scoring (13.7), assists (3.4), and steals (2.6) per game last season. He's a quick guard who puts constant pressure on opposing teams on both ends of the floor.
