It’s tough to say who will come out of next season as champs in this league, but one thing for certain is the league is full of talent. Let’s take a look at some of the top names who could crack the all-league teams in 2023-24.
Returning All-League
First-Team
Dylan Gilderhus Dylan Gilderhus 6'0" | PG Rogers (Puyallup) | 2025 State WA Rogers (Puyallup) ’25
The shifty guard was a problem last season, breaking down guys off the dribble and making it rain from behind the arc. He has one of the quicker releases in the state and is an explosive offensive force that can score in a hurry. Gilderhus should be one of the top players in the league again this season and has a chance to lead the Rams to a league title.
Dominik Robinson Dominik Robinson 6'9" | PF Rainier Beach | 2024 State WA Graham Kapowsin ’24
Robinson is the only true big on this list and it’s likely going to take a lot of attention from defenses to curb his ability in the paint. He has strength, improved his footwork, and has become much better finishing through contact. He’ll be able to exploit a lot of matchups this season and should be the top big in the league.
Second-Team
Isaiah Norris Isaiah Norris 5'10" | SG Graham Kapowsin | 2024 State WA Graham Kapowsin ’24
One of the many quick and hungry guards on the Eagles, Norris is an excellent spot up shooter who can be tough to stop when he gets in a flow outside. He’s also pretty stout, and plays well off of two feet inside. He’ll be one of three seniors trying to lead GK to an SPSL title.
Tony Harste Tony Harste 5'11" | PG Emerald Ridge | 2024 State WA Emerald Ridge ’24
Harste is a great athlete who’s a standout wide receiver on the football team. He’s not too bad on the hardwood either and will step up as one of two seniors to hopefully lead Emerald Ridge over the hump after an 11-15 season last year. He mostly ran the point last season but is really explosive side-to-side and can matchup against wings or guards. He’s going to be an important player for the Jags this season as someone who can set the tone on both ends.
Isaac Norris Isaac Norris 6'0" | CG Graham Kapowsin | 2025 State WA Graham Kapowsin ’25
Isaac plays with a quiet confidence and doesn’t seem to shy away from taking big shots. He’s a really controlled player that has good stop and go with the ball, understands spacing pretty well and has a crafty approach to the game. He has a shot to be a first-teamer this year and help take GK to the state tourney.
Other Players to Watch
Matt Lindblom Matt Lindblom 6'2" | PG Olympia | 2025 State WA Olympia ’25
This guy has been a solid contributer the past two seasons but now he has a real opportunity to step up and be one of the leaders at Olympia. He has the competitive juices to be the guy and showed a really nice touch from the mid-range, patience on the attack, and an ability to hit some tough contested shots. He will be an interesting kid to watch to see how far he can lead this team.
Drew Carlson Drew Carlson 6'1" | SG Olympia | 2024 State WA Olympia ’24
Here is another Olympia Bear that should step up into a larger role this season. He was a key starter for them last year and has the ability to create his own looks, hit from each level, and play some solid defense. I think he could have a bit of a breakout campaign and he’ll be a huge reason why you shouldn’t overlook Oly this winter.
Blake Peterson Blake Peterson 6'3" | CG Olympia | 2025 State WA Olympia ’25
Peterson is a bigger guard, although he only stands around 6-foot-3 he has a solid base and frame that allows him to be a more physical player than your average guard. He’s a good contributer on defense and the glass, but he also shows toughness with the ball attacking the hoop and should make a big leap forward this season.
Ciaosen Fuller Ciaosen Fuller 6'1" | SG Graham Kapowsin | 2024 State WA Graham Kapowsin ’24
A fiesty, slashing guard, Fuller does a great job fighting for extra possessions, making aggressive takes to the hoop, and is another Graham Kapowsin guard who can sink shots from the outside. He’s a guy that sets a fast pace and gives the Eagles a deep backcourt.
Elijah Gillespie Elijah Gillespie 5'10" | PG Graham Kapowsin | 2026 State WA Graham Kapowsin ’26
Might as well do one more GK guard. Gillespie is the next Eagles guard up and plays with confidence and poise uncommon for his age. He has a lot of wiggle to his game and is a polished scorer from every level. He shows good intincts, whether it’s making passes or jumping ballhandlers, making Gillespie a young player to watch in the SPSL.
Treyshawn Weatherspoon Treyshawn Weatherspoon 5'10" | PG Rogers (Puyallup) | 2025 State WA Rogers (Puyallup) ’25
While the gambles may not always pay off, Weatherspoon’s game is predicated on trusting his reads and being that highly instinctual player that can shift moment in a blur. He’s got the pace to push the game on both ends and makes some truly outstanding passes at times. With his progress, Rogers could make it two guards on the first-team all-league in 2023-24.
Peter Pilcher Peter Pilcher 6'4" | SF Rogers (Puyallup) | 2026 State WA Rogers (Puyallup) ’26
Pilcher might be a long shot for an all-league spot but I really liked what I saw from his this spring and summer. He can play the frontcourt spots but he’s built more like a wing and is a guy that has the bounce to get up and send shots back, shoot out to 3-point, and also seemed to get better and better with his touch around the paint.
Ryan Avary Ryan Avary 6'4" | SF Rogers (Puyallup) | 2025 State WA Rogers (Puyallup) ’25
Avary could be a pretty important player for Rogers. They don’t have a ton of depth or size up front, so Avary’s length will be a big asset for them on the defensive end and on the glass. He’s also a capable offensive threat who can shoot fairly efficiently from outside, and find space to dart inside to the hoop.
Jamaize McGriff Jamaize McGriff 6'5" | SF Emerald Ridge | 2026 State WA Emerald Ridge ’26
McGriff should be ready to take that next step forward after starting for the Jags last season. He’s a pretty solidly built kid with good bounce who you would expect to play a lot around the rim. While he can do some things inside, he’s more prone to hitting the mid-range shots and wants to work from the perimeter in. He does have good touch on the jumper and could be a sneaky all-league pick this season.
