Here are a handful of the changes:
Capps is the new No. 1
Cade Capps Cade Capps 6'5" | SG Stone Memorial | 2025 State #210 Nation TN is now the top dog in the class. He’s deserving of it. Throughout the summer, the 6-foot-5 wing displayed his ability to shoot the ball efficiently from the perimeter. He’s comfortable with the ball in his hands at pivotal moments of the game. Capps shows a lot of poise.
Butler moves up nine spots to No. 17
Taquez Butler Taquez Butler 6'3" | SG Douglass | 2025 State TN moves inside the top 20. The Douglass High product played a huge part in the Red Devils’ run to the TSSAA Division 1 Class 2A state championship game last season. Butler can score the basketball at a high clip. A lot of eyes will be on Butler as he enters his junior season, in hopes of leading Douglass back to the final day of the season. I expect Butler to be a Mr. Basketball candidate.
Bennerman sits right behind Capps
Cade Bennerman Cade Bennerman 6'11" | PF Father Ryan | 2025 State #262 Nation TN moves up one spot to No. 2. The 6-foot-9 power forward is long, agile, and alert on both ends of the floor. Bennerman can finish at the rim. He’s also good at altering shots at the rim.
Brown is an interesting prospect
Christian Brown Christian Brown 6'7" | SF Franklin | 2025 State TN moved down a spot to No. 6, but it doesn’t change a thing on how effective he is on both ends of the floor. At 6-6, Brown does a lot of good things from rebounding to setting great screens. He can make shots from perimeter. Brown is an interesting prospect because if he can show improvement as a ball handler where he can play out further from the basket a lot more, then Brown will become a can’t-miss prospect in this class.
Shane Cherry moved up one spot to No. 3. Jayden Jones and Cortez Graham round out the top five.
