As their games will continue to develop over the course of the next year before college, they are already incredibly skilled and tough kids. Get to know more about these athletes below.
Marcus Glock Marcus Glock 6’4″ | SF Wahoo | 2024 State NE had a huge summer for Nebraska Supreme . He led them in scoring throughout the grassroots season, consistently finishing in double figures. Glock is a top talent in the state, and one of the best shooters/scorers in his class. While several top notch D2 programs have offered him recently, he is deserving of more. I think Glock’s skillset would fit in well at the high academic D1 level. Patriot/Ivy League schools should take a closer look at the 6’4 prospect from Wahoo. Currently, Glock sits at number 3 in the most recent Prep Hoops rankings.
Big time summer for Kade Cook Kade Cook 6’8″ | SF Gretna | 2024 State NE of Gretna. Playing with NBDA this grassroots season, he picked up numerous Division 2 offers from programs in the area. The 6’8 prospect has all the tools to be a big time player at the next level. If his skillset can continue to progress, I imagine more offers will continue to come his way. He will be a big name on a Gretna squad that will be a contender in Class A this season.
Will Cooper Will Cooper 6’6″ | SF Millard South | 2024 State NE is another guy that played really well this summer. On a team filled with super talented guards, one could argue he was the most impactful player on his team. There are very few players who play as hard as Cooper does. He brings energy and toughness on both ends of the floor, while also being a consistent scoring presence from the outside and the interior. Thus far, Cooper has earned a couple of Division 2 offers. If I had to guess, more will come his way before it is all said and done.
Jake Hilkemann Jake Hilkemann 6’4″ | SF Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE just recently announced his commitment to Concordia. This is a big time get for the Bulldogs, as he will fit really well into their system. This summer, Hilkemann played really well for Nebraska Supreme . He is a super active athlete who is as tough as they come. Hilkemann has the athleticism to play above the rim, and the footwork to guard several positions on the perimeter. He is one of my favorite prospects to watch because of how hard he plays each time he steps out on the court. Look for him to have a huge senior season at Southeast.
Rickey Loftin Rickey Loftin 6’0″ | SG Westside | 2024 State NE is capable of going for 20+ every night. He is as streaky as a scorer as they come, with an expansive arsenal of offensive moves to create space for his shot. I was able to watch Loftin a good amount this summer. Every time I saw him play, he brought life to his squad with his scoring ability and toughness on the defensive end. He never backs down from any matchup, and is the type of guy to play the best in the biggest moments.
