Following an exciting season of high school basketball action in the Volunteer State, it's time to look back at some of the most impressive in-state performers on both sides of the court from last year. Today, we will be continuing my "Volunteer State Standouts" series as we continue to break down the best and the brightest talent in each individual position. After evaluating some intriguing point guard, combo guards and shooting guards, here's my list of the top 2024 power forwards in Tennessee to watch out for this upcoming season.

At the top of my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1299049' first='Da'Ron' last='Hall'], a 6-foot-7 power forward at Cane Ridge High School. Hall was one of the most explosive weapons on the Ravens' roster during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In addition to excellent size, speed and versatility on both sides of the floor, Hall remains calm and composed with the ball in his hands, focusing on being a team player as he makes smart passes. The rising senior out of Nashville, TN. also impresses with his effort on the boards, showcasing outstanding shooting from range and the ability to overwhelm defenders at the rim. Hall is without question an intriguing power forward prospect in the state to keep an eye on next season.

Claiming the number two spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1125601' first='Griffin' last='Cooper'], a 6-foot-8 power forward at Columbia Academy. Cooper made a significant impact on both sides of the floor during his junior season of high school basketball last year. With outstanding size, speed and offensive efficiency on the boards, Cooper is difficult to contain as he can sink jumpers and drive to the rim. The rising senior out of Columbia, TN. also impresses with his ability to beat the other team to rebounds and block shots on the other side of the court. After an impressive showcase last year, Cooper is definitely a power forward prospect in the state of Tennessee to keep an eye on this upcoming season.

Finishing in third place on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1213163' first='Rashad' last='Williams'], 6-foot-7 power forward at Bartlett High School. Williams was a highly efficient playmaker for the Panthers during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In addition to impressive size, speed and explosiveness on both sides of the court, Williams was a well-balanced team contributor, paying attention to teammates with open looks. The rising senior out of Bartlett, TN. also caught my attention with his pin-point accuracy from range and his ability to drive to the rim. After a solid 2022-23 campaign, Williams is definitely a power forward in the Volunteer State to keep an eye on this upcoming season.

In fourth place on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1789005' first='Kavien' last='Jones'], a 6-foot-6 power forward at Battle Ground Academy. Jones was one of the biggest gamechangers on the Wildcats' roster during his junior season of high school basketball last year. What stands out about Jones is his outstanding size, speed and ability to contribute to the boards from around the perimeter and in the paint. The rising senior out of Franklin, TN. also impresses with his strong ball control, solid footwork, defensive effort and consistent rebounding. After a commanding performance last year, Jones is without question an intriguing power forward prospect in the state of Tennessee to watch more closely this upcoming season.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1173208' first='Cross' last='Chadwick'], a 6-foot-7 power forward at Providence Academy. Chadwick was a reliable contributor on both sides of the floor for his team during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In addition to excellent size, speed and explosiveness on both sides of the court, Chadwick impresses with his footwork, precise movement, ability to sink floaters and drive to the rim. The rising senior out of Johnson City, TN. also showcased strong ball control, smart passing, defensive toughness and a consistent rebounding effort. After a successful year on the court, Chadwick is definitely an intriguing power forward prospect to watch next season.
