Prep Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek is spending the weekend in Atlanta checking out the talent on display across three events. On Saturday morning he checked in on the Under Armour Association Finals from LakePoint Sports. Here is who stood out:
The 6-9 power forward stood out in a variety of ways whether it was his ability to score on all three levels or play great defense. His soft touch and finish around the rim was sensational leading the way with 18 points for Pro One Basketball in a win over SOH Elite . His versatility has played a big role this weekend at the Under Armour Finals.
The rising senior point guard showed a lot of toughness finding different ways to make an impact. He had a huge second half to erupt his way for a game-high 22 points in a win over Hooptown Elite. Flynn has had a huge summer on the recruiting trail as well picking up offers from Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Lipscomb, Samford, Tennessee Tech, Western Carolina and so many others.
The 6-6 rising junior guard is having a solid summer for SOH Elite bringing all the tools with him whether it’s his pure toughness or attack on the offensive end. His length has played a huge role this weekend as well as he is just reaching what can be a big junior season ahead. He has received interest from Appalachian State, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, Howard, Princeton and so many others.
The 6-0 point guard flirted with a near triple-double finishing with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in a win over B-Maze Elite. He displayed great handles and has an unbelievable touch getting to the rim with his quickness. He makes a huge impact when he is out on the floor and loves getting his teammates involved in the action. He is a floor general and a proven winner. Impact senior season ahead looming for Suber.
The 6-2 rising junior guard has a smooth shooting display and can get hot in a hurry. Despite the loss to B-Maze Elite, Burbach finished with a team-high 22 points on five made 3-pointers. His potential is just getting started as he picked up his first D1 offer earlier this month from Northern Illinois. He is also sneaky quick and can get to the front of the rim in a hurry as he finishes around the rim efficiently.
The 6-5 rising senior wing kept his team afloat in their semifinal game against Team Thrill. Bahr finished with a team-high 18 points with most of them coming on the attack to the basket. His handle has been impeccable this summer as he is looking to transition into a guard role. He was also a huge impact on the defensive side of the basketball forcing his opposition into taking tough shots or making bad passes.
