After highlighting some explosive power forward prospects, it’s time to continue to evaluate some outstanding rising seniors as we move onto a new position and a new group of notable performers. Without any further ado, here’s my list of some talented 2024 small forwards in Tennessee to watch for this upcoming season.
Highlights
At the top of my list of standouts is Cole McCormick Cole McCormick 6'5" | SF Notre Dame | 2024 State TN , a 6-foot-5 small forward at Notre Dame High School. McCormick was a highly impactful weapon on both sides for the Fighting Irish during his junior stint of high school basketball. What stands out most about McCormick is his well-balanced playstyle as he showcased excellent size, speed and explosiveness in transition. The rising senior out of Chattanooga, TN. additionally impressed me with his scoring ability, using his height and wingspan to overwhelm the opposition in the paint and grab second-chance opportunities. McCormick was crucial defensively due to his physicality and shot-blocking ability.
I was additionally impressed with Cameron Hudson Cameron Hudson 6'7" | SF Memphis Central | 2024 State TN , a 6-foot-7 small forward at Memphis Central High School. Hudson was one of the more reliable playmakers for the Warriors during his junior campaign of high school basketball. With outstanding size, speed and footwork, Hudson has no problems driving straight through pressure, proving he can consistently attack the rim, hit the outside three and collect rebounds. The rising senior out of Memphis, TN. also caught my attention with his selfless playstyle, creating several significant scoring opportunities with his smart passing as well as his ability to pick his shots carefully.

Finishing at number three on my list of notable performers is Maddux Routh Maddux Routh 6'5" | SF C.P.A. | 2024 State TN , a 6-foot-5 small forward at Christ Presbyterian Academy. Routh was a highly explosive weapon for the Lions during his junior season of high school basketball. In addition to excellent size, speed and toughness, what makes Routh so dangerous on the floor is his height and wingspan, showing off his ability to both drive to the rim and score in the paint with his jumper. The rising senior out of Nashville, TN. also made an impact due to his footwork, game awareness and strength, muscling past the opposition to grab rebounds and contributing defensively with his ability to block shots.
Another talented player to catch my attention is Drew Brillhart Drew Brillhart 6'5" | SF Bearden | 2024 State TN , a 6-foot-5 small forward at Bearden High School. Brillhart made his presence known on the court during his junior stint of high school basketball with the Bulldogs. What stands out about Brillhart is his size, speed, footwork and scoring capability, showcasing his versatility and efficiency around the perimeter and in the paint. The rising senior out of Knoxville, TN. also made a big difference with his strong presence underneath the rim, collecting easy buckets and rebounding opportunities.

Coming in at number five on my list of gamechangers is Lucas Pring Lucas Pring 6'6" | SF Nolensville | 2024 State TN , a 6-foot-6 small forward at Nolensville High School. Pring proved himself as a high-level weapon during his junior campaign of high school basketball with the Knights. On top of outstanding size, speed and a physical edge, what makes Pring so impactful is his overall athleticism, proving he can hit floaters from range while blasting the defense in the paint. The rising senior out of Nolensville, TN. additionally adapts well to pressure and was a strong defensive weapon due to his ability to guard the rim, block shots and collect second-chance opportunities.
