Standout Point Guards: Class 1A and Below/Class of 2025

He is very good off the dribble and hitting mid-range jumpers in the lane. Lance is very good at creating turnovers and scoring in transition. Slaughter didn't make the playoffs in class 1A last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347184' first='Destin' last='Love'] 5'9" Hamilton Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Destin, is a true floor general who can control the pace of the game. He is a good three point shooter and excellent passer. He makes the player around him better. Destin plays good team defense and is good at jumping in passing lanes creating turnovers. Hamilton Christian had a very good season and lost in the state Division IV select quarterfinals this past year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347259' first='Damarion' last='McClendon'] 5'8" Doyline</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Damarion, had a very big sophomore year . He averaged 12 points ,3 assist and 2 steals a game last season. He is a dynamic playmaker who can score the basketball. He is good behind the arc and finishing in the lane off the dribble. Damarion plays high pressure defense and creates turnovers with his quickness. Doyline lost in the quarterfinals in Division V Non select playoffs last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1722878' first='Luke' last='Waldron'] 6'1" Cedar Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Luke, is a terrific basketball player who was a consistent double digit scorer last season. He is a point guard and floor general who shoots the three point shot very well. He is good at distributing the basketball to open teammates. Luke plays great defense and isn't afraid to step in to take charges. He will have a big junior season. Cedar Creek lost in the 2nd round of the Division IV select playoffs last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1560448' first='Jalen' last='Brown'] 5'9" Avoyelles Charter</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jalen, had a outstanding sophomore season. He averaged over 17 points, 3 assist , 2 rebounds and 3 steals a game last season. He was 1st team Class B all-state selection last season. He is a phenomenal scorer who can score from everywhere. He also gets teammates involved and can dictate the pace of the game. Defensively he is a tough hard nosed defender. Jalen lead is team to the Division V select state championship this past year.
