He has good size and can score from different areas on the court, he’ll take the contact on hard drives to the basket, and make his free throws. He hits the short jumpers in different places, he’ll come down in transition with a crossover to finish at the rim. He runs the court, his size allows him to guard bigger players, and rebound.
The speedy guard with a solid body stands under 6’0 with quality handles, and good foot speed to go by defenders in transition. He deals with ball pressure while making his way into the paint playing through contact. He’s a scoring guard on his team, but shows he can run the offense up top. He drives, and kicks, with good passing His foot speed allows him to apply pressure on the ball.
He has good size and ball handling at this level, which makes him kind of a combo forward. He handles in the open court and in transition after rebounding. His passing up court and decision making is noted. He can drive hard into the paint for jumpers, or finish with contact. He spots up for 3’s often. He works hard to defend and rebound.
He runs the show up top. He has good handles, speed to attack the paint for kick-outs and dump-offs. He’ll push and pass it up, he makes good decisions. He has a paint jumper, a floater, he’ll hit the mid-range coming down off the dribble. He’ll pick up and defend the whole court.
He has the necessary tools needed to run the point guard position. He’s fast, with quality handles, vision and patience up top, he’s probably a pass first type, though he’ll take his open shots and attack in transition. He can get into the paint for strong finishes and floaters using his speed and dribble. He can be pesky on defense.
Widemon comes off the watch list, and has a chance to make a name for himself this season on the varsity at Modesto Christian. He has good foot speed, lengthy arms and can be a disruptor on defense if he locks in. He’s a guard with good handles and moves to generate his scoring opportunities, he has 3pt range and can drop a few when he gets it going.
He sat the bench mostly last season, this Spring we saw an uptick in his productivity on the court. He’ll be counted on to produce in the paint for this team. He’s moving better in the post using his body to actively get rebounds, and score in the paint. He’s big enough to have presence on the defensive side of the ball. He’ll screen and pass, and score a bit using a drop step and going up strong on balance.
He stands 6’2 with a muscular body and good movement on the court. He’s developing his outside shot, but does other things to contribute. He’s a physical undersized player who works the post area snatching rebounds, and defending bigger players, he has the foot speed to defend on the perimeter. He has a hard dribble that get him to the rim from the perimeter and in transition.
Highlights
Right now it looks like he’s player that does the other things, while his offensive tools develop. He’ll defend one of the scorers on the court, he’ll help with the team rebounding looking to get tap ins or hustle points with put backs. He’s a good court runner. He can defend multiple positions. He is aggressive and goes up strong when he goes.
Kendrick had a good Spring. He’s more of a post player right now so he’s improved in those areas. He’s trimmed a bit and moving with a purpose. He works from the high and low post with good passing, and improved foot work down on the block. He has a solid body with lengthy arms to defend in the post. He’ll set a screen and work his way to the basket to help on the boards, or score.
