The Prep Hoops Circuit Passion Region Finals are also getting underway on Friday night at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Prep Hoops Florida scouts Allen Pettigrew and Ross Van De Griek are on the grounds of IMG Academy. Here is who stood out on Sunday:
Calven Charles
Calven Charles
The 6-2 combo guard is continuing to make strides in his game as he develops into a hopeful extended role into his senior season. Charles brought his ability to rebound well for his size as well as being a slasher. He scored in a variety of ways whether it was on the attack or in the mid-range. His defensive abilities have continued to improve as well as his shiftiness allows him to defend multiple positions on the floor.
Markel Brown
Markel Brown
The 6-5 wing brought all the tools with him this weekend as he brought length, size and athleticism every time he stepped onto the floor. He is a viable threat where he can finish at a high percentage around the rim as well as defend at a high level. He remains one of our top remaining unsigned prospects in the state of Maryland. Has a soft touch and a great feel for the game scoring most of his points from the interior.
Blake Stuba
Blake Stuba
The 6-1 rising sophomore guard was one of the best shooters I saw on Sunday as he can stroke it from beyond the arc knocking down three 3-pointers in a win over Filling The Lane. His pure passing ability has also improved over the course of the summer and is poised to have a impact for a youthful backcourt at East Lake this upcoming season.
Dior Evans
Dior Evans
The 5-10 rising junior guard is an elite playmaker as well as a decision maker. Evans’ high IQ while running the primary point guard position for SWFL Hoops this weekend was what stood out to me as he can impact the game in a variety of ways. Evans also displayed a dangerous jump shot off the bounce that he was making at a consistent rate. He defends all 94 feet of the basketball court at a high level as well where he was averaging nearly three-four steals per game.
The 6-2 rising junior guard continued to have an impressive weekend for Ballers Elite 2025 as he had the ability to takeover the offense as well as facilitate at a high level. James is a prolific shooter from beyond the arc as well as an above average defender where he was jumping into the passing lanes. Expect James’ stock to rise as he is gearing up for his junior season as college coaches start peaking his interest.
Highlights
Tanyon Skora
Tanyon Skora
The 6-0 rising sophomore guard was impressive off the bench for Team Trilogy showing great leadership and his basketball IQ. Skora is a true three-level scorer finishing with a game-high 24 points in a win over Elevate To Greatness. Skora did a great job defensively as well whether he was guarding on or off the ball. Skora has a bright future as he continues to grow and develop his game going into his sophomore season.
Darius Behn
Darius Behn
The 6-0 rising sophomore combo guard was one of the best two-way prospects I saw on Sunday at the Passion Region Finals. His ability to be a lock-down defender and efficient rebounder for his size really speaks how much his upside can truly be. Behn finished with 12 points, five rebounds and three steals in a 60-38 win over Team Knight Hoopz in the 15U Championship Game. His athleticism continues to rise as he continues to grow as well. His pure passing ability has improved over the course of the summer as well.
